Default personalized plate opinion... funny...

OK, so I got my confirmation on my Z due in Feb. I made arrangements to get my permanent personalized license plate. I just ordered it after thinking on it for a long time. This will be the first personalize or "vanity" plate for me. I ran it by a couple of people first and they liked it. I will receive the plate in a couple of weeks, place it on my Bimmer until I am ready to turn it in for the end of lease. Then I have the release paperwork to transfer the new plate to my new 350Z.

ANYWAY... I was eating lunch with friends today telling them about my new plate. They know I have had 2 previous 300ZX's before and I said the new plate will be "MY3RDZ".

My friend asks me why would you want a plate that says "My three are dizzy??" Who would you want to think you have 3 kids that are all dizzy? Geez, I never thought it could be looked at like that!

Funny, but still think most people are going to get that I mean "my 3rd Z" - right? right?

Help me out here!

Drake.

Drake,

When I attained the status of a licensed Professional Engineer, or "PE" many years ago, I got a personalized plate. My mechanical engineering background is in heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning, or HVAC, so I got a plate that said "HVAC PE", reflecting on both qualities of my engineering career.

Someone once asked me why my plate said "havoc pee", alluding to some problem in completing a private bodily function. Go figure............

Anyway, hope your kids get straightened out.

Hehe. But, honestly, I think MY3RDZ is easy to interpret. Is there any way you can make it "MY 3RD Z"? 8 letters (or spaces) shoud fit, right?

In Cali you can go to 7 1/2 spaces which would work for the above.

Yeah, I was at work when I ordered the plate through the web. I was in a rush because I was swamped and I ordered the plate with a logo which allows 6 chars, no spaces. If I had taken my time I would have seen there there is a 7 character, no logo plate which allows up to 3 spaces!!! So, yes it can be "MY 3RD Z"! I will call them tomorrow and see if I can change it.

phooey!

Funniest one I ever heard of has nothing to do with the Z. The story I read said they revoked it after 3 months when they figured it out :

3M TA3

[ ps. its got nothing to do with the m3 ]

OK, I had to look at it in a mirror to be sure..........

Guess that would be pretty bad on a front plate, pulling up in someone's rear view mirror...........

I love truth in advertising. After all it was a 'vet. I ran 350Z for seven months on my truck. Local police wanted to know if I was dealing. Go figure...they thought it meant one kilo.

Default I'm not getting a vanity plate

but NE1469 is tasteless rather than clever IMO. That one is like UEATME. Used to see a guy in an old Firebird in Va. around Richmond whose tag read NSID-U. Poor. Saw one in a mag on the front of a Rolls reading RCHFKR. Most clever one I've seen was 10SNE1. The worst thing I've seen in SC is people driving around with a front tag(no front tag needed here)reading JESUS and Univ of SC(Gamecock mascot) fans with bumper stickers that read NO ONE CAN LICK OUR *****. I am not anti-religious, but I hope no one has put one of those magnetic signs on the side of their Z that reads NABUM'S CHARIOT. THIS VEHICLE WILL BE UNMANNED IN CASE OF RAPTURE. Course those are usually seen on the sides of Pinto's and Vegas. All IMHO. Hope no one is offended.
