1. Search

2. Why would you ask for opinions if they were a pain to install after you bought the kit? Generally people ask things like that before they buy it.

3. Search

So far every Z I've seen that has them, damages the interior door panel on the upper corner by the stock tweeter. FYI....

I love the look of Lambo doors, but everyone I talked to ends up having problems with them eventually. I would highly recommend you get a professional to do the install to minimize headache. Good luck and please post pictures when you get it done.

You are welcome, both of your questions...

If you are unwilling to search for information, then my money is on taking it to a shop as installation is much more difficult.

as long as you only open the doors 3~4 times a week lol...

not recommended for a daily driver at all.

when you install, make sure you try to hide the wires as much as possible underneath the kit rather in between the kit and the door... make sure it does NOT rub anywher... because those rubs will soon transform to paint chipping ... ultimately a disaster. careful alignment is definaetly key to the install as well.

on a side note regarding this whole "search" thing...

if all this board was good for was "search for facts" - why don't we just shut the board down and publish a book on popular topics and take opinions from the fact as gospel truth - a site like my350z.com gets new usuers everyday and mods like lambo doors, suspension, intakes, exhauts are added to Z's on a daily basis...

result: new opinions every day on various topics.

My Z was one of the lambo door gineue pigs - i have a lot to say about Do's and Don'ts... i only joined this board in June of 2005. my experiences clearly won't be found with the search feature. I'm sure there are many people like me who rescently joined but can still bring additional info to popular topics that so called "forumn veterans" aka "search and repost police" starts flamming.

You'd ask the same question that's been asked 100's of times before? See attachment for the location...

I think it's a stretch to go from "search for info first before you ask about something" to "all the board is good for, let's shut it down." Maybe you can find some wiggle room in between.

Your experiences won't be found because you didn't post about them. Others have. Again, there's a difference between giving "additional info" once a person has looked at what's already there and wants additional info or updated opinions, and someone asking, "Does anybody here have them?"

I realize many people are too lazy to search and feel insulted when someone suggests such a preposterous notion, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Don't search.

-Chicken (could honestly give a **** if people search or not as he's not the one looking for the information and has considered opening a shop that unbunches panties)

Ill give him that... the Search function on this forum isnt as easy and blunt as most. Like most forums have a big ol button at the top saying "SEARCH". But these forums you actually have to highlight Forums and then go to Search. Even though it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out where the Search button is.. does not help the lazy as$es, who if do not see a Search button immediately they will just start a New Topic.

alright everyone lets calm down geez. Chicken has been a member for a while and hes trying to let people know how to get the most outa the site. The guy will probably end up doing a search anyhow so why even post this thread in the first place. Theres been like 100 threads in the last 2 months on lambo doors in the body section so a search woulda turned all that up. Im with chicken, people lets learn how to read stuff ourselves!

Since nobody has posted a picture yet...let me be the first Impressions follow...

Anyway, yes, even though it's a "bolt-on" kit, they are very difficult to install, primarily because you have to remove and remount the fenders, and aligning the door can be tricky. The shop I had mine done at (Vertex Motorsports) did a great job, but it took them considerably longer than they first estimated.

If you have the funds to let someone else deal with the hassle, do it.

As for their daily use, they do take a little getting used to, but once you do, they're fine. Mine open out horiz. far enough for me to get out easily without lifting the doors if I choose, and lifting/closing is a peice of cake. I think they're a great visual mod, but that's just me...everyone has their own opinion.

If you HADN'T bought this Lambo Door Kit ALREADY, I would advise spending whatever it costs on PERFORMANCE MODS.

The doors don't impress me...I'm happy with the Z's outward appearance. I'm NOT trying to "front" like I'm drivin' a Lamborghini or to have people wonder "Gee..Look at those doors.....I wonder what he's driving....It can't be a Z??"

IMO...The Z attracts enough attention...no need for pretentious mods like Lambo doors.

Yes, you wouldn't want to be a pompous, pretentious a-hole like me.

It is possible to do something just because you like the way it looks. I'm NOT trying to front like I'm driving a Lambo, and I'm NOT trying to make people think I'm driving something else. I drive a modified Z, and I'm proud of what it is. A few people have mistaken my car for a Porsche, but I politely correct them and accept their compliments on the work I've done to the car.

Kcobean yer car is awesome! I agree on using money for performance mods instead, but I don't know why people sit hear and tell others how to spend their money?! I sense a lil jealousy...

Defiantly take it to a shop. Have you ever tried to take off a car door and then put it back on? It a ***** trying to align the sum of a ***** back straight. Plus your probably going to damage your doors if you’re a first timer doing this. I got my doors done at Vertical Doors Inc. in Corona Ca. It took about 2.5hrs. to finish. Plus you have to cut the insider of the finder to make clearance for the hinges. Some unless you have more tools then a ratchet set and some screw drivers, your in way over your head on this.

Plus you better expect to do all your maintenances yourself because anyone you take your car to is going to **** up your inside door panels. I took my to a dealership last week for a typical oil change and some how they ended up ripping both my inside door panels (driver and passenger side). The damages that occur can not be touch up or repair, you have to replace the whole damn panel. They told me each panels is like $400 bucks. So after a hour of intense arguing and denial from them, they agreed to replace both side panels without charge. Damn right. Gonna **** up my car doors and then gonna try to tell me it was my fault because of my mod.

Anyways…I’m not trying to tell you what to do with your money but seriously think about all the problems you will have. If you still think it is worth it, Do it.

Just wondering, are you 15 or 16 years old? I know you are at least still in high school.
