Default I lost my keys!

I have owned my Z for only two weeks and i lost my key. The dealer only gave me 1 key to my car so i have no extra. Also i have some alarm on my car called car lok and installed at my dealer. Will the dealer be able to make a new key? do i have to go to the dealer were i bought my car? Does anybody know about about the this alarlm called car lok (somthing like that) were you have to put a key chain to a sensor and then only can i start the car? any ideas would be great!

Did you buy it used? Because I know that all new ones come with two master keys w/remotes and one valet key.

Usually you have to go to the dealer with the car to get the key programmed to the car but I'm not sure about Nissans.

Go to the dealer with the title if you have it otherwise proof that you own the car and they should be able to do everything by VIN number. As for the alarm that is anyones guess. I would have it removed.

They'll replace it ... but its going to cost you.

I know when a locksmith has to bust you out (speaking from experience) it costs a damn fortune.

i search everywhere and I still cant find it. Went to nissan today and they want $50 dollars for the key. $100 for the remote, and $35 install fee. And on top of all that i gotta get the car towed to nissan. Somthing that they have to program the key and alarm!! Well there goes my front lip! I hate myself right now.

Don't know about the key, but don't buy the remote (key fob) from them. You can get it for around $25 on eBay or sellers on this board. And you can program it yourself.

I had my car towed after my accident and between the tow truck driver and the body shop the keys got lost! Bought 2 keys from Nissan ($75 ea) and two remotes from Ebay ($25 both) and will get it programmed at the dealer, but the car needs to be present for the programming ($100)!

The only thing you can get promptly is a key to open doors and windows (car cannot start) from the dealer with VIN number ($6-$9). It definetly helps when towing the car!

Hey, just to let you know. I came across a couple of extra remotes and I'm going to try to figure out how to program it tonight to make sure it will work with the Z. If it does then I'll sell you the extra one if you want another remote. Just let me know. Later,
Fletch

I got that remote to work. It's a piece of cake. Maybe took about 1 minute to do. Works perfectly!

How do you program the remote? I am getting rid of my 03 Altima, and my Z only has one remote currently, and I have 2 for the Altima.

I believe I used this one and it worked just fine.

I bought a spare FOB on ebay for like $7 shipped. I need to get a spare key made but $100 is absurd.
