Personalized license plates????
I checked for mine in texas on www.publicdata.com, but I guess I can't post what it says because I'll get flamed for it...

No lie....That was the FIRST thought I had when I read saw the thread...LOL!!
Why not just circumvent the whole Dept. of Transporation thing and call the Warden at your friendly neighborhood correctional facility or State Pen and see if he can cut you a cheaper deal than $40.00??
