Default Key Fob's can endure some water time

I went swimming the other day after working out and forgot to check my boardshorts. I was swimming for about 10-15 minutes before I noticed it in my pocket, along with my ID. I got out and went to check if it still worked, and it does. That was Monday and it still works. LOL guess I got lucky.

yep. i was thrown in a pool one drunken night and had my key fob and my nokia cell phone in my pocket. the key fob still worked perfect, and the phone even worked to, though it would shut off randomly sometimes.

i once also dropped my moms bmw key, which has built-in buttons, in the toilet (while the toilet was clean, luckily) and it still works perfectly.
