Don't beat yourself up. I am super carefull with my Z and like to park on the ends at parking lots to minimize the potential damage from people opening their doors on my ride. Well, I swung too wide on a right side curb and heard that same awful noise and yes the lower right side was screwed. $500 estimate to repair & repaint said screw that, can hardly see it. Anyway my message is not to beat yourself up for doing it. It happens to the best of us. The rest of the folks will give you some good advice on this forum on what to do about it.

Yeah, I can relate, montree....had to do that for a while too. OBTW, that front fascia is cheaper than I thought. PM me for details.

super old thread but I thought I'd share this here

just got my z 3 weeks ago, had an '01 Jeep Cherokee before then so I'm still getting used to the change

pulled up too close to the parking spot last night, whoops, backed up slowly

that didn't sound very good...

pretty sure I almost cried

but whatever, either way the paint job on the bumper that my dealer did to sweeten the deal was pretty bad, they just threw on the stock pain without matching the color at all on an 11 year old car

I took that at the worse angle I could, doesn't actually look THAT bad, but still pretty bad

gonna try to get it repaired and then get a new bumper, the VIS Techno R is looking pretty good, closest I can find to the Aerosync N-Spec

went to all the collision centers around here that are open on a Saturday, all of them told me the same thing, the bumper needs to be completely replaced and all gave me an estimate of around $700 to $760 for the repair which is kind of ridiculous specially since the bumper they all quoted me for is $323

was adviced by one of the reps that I spoke to to try and get CVS (where the incident happened) to pay for the damages since that metal bar shouldn't have been sticking out

tried talking to the manager and he wanted nothing to do with the problem, was even rude about it, so I've made a claim with Geico and will know later next week if they decide to go ahead and contact CVS to cover the costs

did a temp fix on it, used a ton of 3500 psi plastic weld, goign to grab some eproxy tomorrow and maybe some perforated metal bars from home depot to reinforce it, I'm going to glue the metal bar that supports the bumper to the bumper itself as well

might be an overkill since I already used a TON of plastic weld, but I'm going to be driving 7 hours to South Florida and 7 hours back this weekend, better safe than sorry

sanded and used all in one dupli-color touch up paint

I'm pretty sure the bumper wasn't clear coated so if this fix holds up then I'll sand it better, get it painted and coated so it matches the rest of the car a bit better

this is what I used to weld mine back together, definitely recommend it, I've used it a few times and it works wonders

First off been driving lowered cars for the last 10-12 years of my life things happens, sorry I'm not as perfect as you clearly are. I'm assuming you must be an F1 driver by your comment. Secondly I mainly ask because there's a lot of bumpers out there and some are better than others so what better way to get some good solid advice before I decide what to get. There's nothing wrong with people asking for opinions before finalizing the decision. Sorry to have wasted you precious time.
