Default The top number(mpg) is of little relevance ...

without the bottom number (average mph). And “average mph” is more meaningful than “around town” or ‘mostly highway.”

What is your average mph?

Wow, I just got married on South Padre Island and on the way back I averaged 33.3 mpg at an average speed of 64 mph. It's like that pic was taken from my car. Freaky.

Try folding the mirrors. Vtec kicks in and makes it more aerodynamic.

17.8 in town, 19mph avg. Tampa traffic sucks real bad.

I'm actually getting better mpg with the turbo, as I used to average about 16.9 before.

I'm averaging about 15.3... but I haven't reset the gauge yet, and this is only my 2nd tank of gas ever in the car... still breaking it in...

and I have to agree with Taurran... the Tampa traffic does suck

(except on the causeways going across Tampa Bay)

I was getting around 19.5 mpg in town. Now that I have the JWT pop charger and Borla TD, I am sure it will get a little worse.

What's the ideal speed for maximum fuel efficiency?
Coasting on Fumes

Dear Fumes:
According to this chart from Eartheasy.com, the most fuel-efficient speed for your car is roughly 55 mph, or 90 km/h. Increasing your speed from 55 mph to 75 mph boosts your fuel consumption a stunning 20 percent!
You can boost your vehicle's fuel efficiency by as much as 30 percent simply by keeping it well maintained and driving it correctly. Here are a few suggestions:

Avoid jackrabbit starts, tailgating, or pumping the gas pedal. Starts and stops increase fuel consumption dramatically.
Take advantage of cruise control whenever possible -- driving at a steady speed saves fuel.
Try to avoid idling your car for more than a minute.
Keep your tires inflated and switch to radial, if you haven't already.
Reduce drag by keeping your windows rolled up, removing unused bike racks, and emptying your trunk.
Optimal fuel efficiency varies from car to car, so check your manual for more suggestions. The best option, of course, is simply to drive less. You can do this by planning trips ahead of time to avoid peak traffic hours or doing your errands a little closer to home.

Found this article on the net. You know how hard it would be to drive 55mph? BEN

That is not true. It should not change whatsoever.

Tut is right. Reset your MPG every tank.
18.8 ~ 19 mpg @ 20 mph average (driving 3.1 miles a day to work, how I miss those days!!!)
20.8 ~ 21.5 mpg @ 25 mph average (now driving 7 miles a day to work)
@ Streets of Willow, I got 12 mpg, upshifting a little earlier than redline to avoid overheating (Streets of Willow is too small for the Z to run on, upshifting early will not hurt your lap time very much because you don't need all 240whp in the middle of successive turns.
