Default thinking about getting a Z

what do ya'll think, at the moment i have a 2003 vw gti (love my gti) and i want to get a z (really want one) in the future, but sometimes i just want to go get one right now, i am almost done paying my car and it should be paid off my next summer, need opinions, should i wait or should i do it trade in for a Z, which year would be the best bang for the money, i hear 03 have some problems??

If you want to get a Z NOW then sell your car privately. You'll get more for it than trading it in to a dealer. My Z was our first non-trade-in car purchase and without the trade-in negative equity we were able to strong arm the dealer a bit more.

You are more likely to see issues with an 03 than an 05 so go newer if you can. But even the 03's aren't as problematic as people make them out to be. I really haven't had any issues.

GTI's are fun but if you do go with the Z you'll love it. Good luck!

Go with a late build 04 or 05 if you can but I have an 03 performance and it's perfect. Never had any problems.

I haven't had any problems with my 03, but just make sure the person you are buying it off of has the warranty records of it because there were several TSB's that should be taken care of.
