They cant void your warranty unless your performance mod was the actual cause of the problem. You can use the search button to further educate yourself on your situation. But overall, good luck with the dealer! If the one you go to is a d*ck then go to another one. once again, good luck!

Did you already pay for the perma coat? If not, don't do it.

They really can't legally void your entire warranty. If you install an aftermarket clutch and your power window motor breaks, that would still be covered even if the clutch isn't, etc. Even though I'm an enthusiast, I don't blame dealers for sometimes not wanting to perform a repair if mods are present, and I don't expect them to personally. Look at it this way, the company spends millions of dollars on R&D to produce a vehicle, and then someone brings it back with aftermarket stuff bolted on. Why would they cover things that have been messed with? If you built something and sold it to someone, then a month later they bring it back wanting you to fix it for free after its been modified, would you want to do the work for free? My philosophy with modding is you've gotta pay to play.

They can only void the warranty on the part that was directly effected by the mod...
They cant void the warranty on the whole car...

There are some mod-friendly dealers in CA...

here is my .02 cents:
Make all the mods you want. Dealer has no right to void any warranty. If you for some reason, have any problems with the car, then depending on the problem, change the part you think may be the reason to the original part. Example: engine problem, then change the engine to stock components and take it to the delaer.

As put by other members of the board, if your dealer is a d*%k, then change to another dealer.

ps- keep your OEM parts, and if you go FI, then you better hope you don't have any problems with the engine. Hard to take those FI's out if you have any problems.

hope this helps.
