Default Got a Good Deal on Used Z

Hey guys, I'm about to pick up an used '03 Enthusiast Z from my co-worker for $19k with 20k miles, silverstone, 6MT, blah blah... He had the tire feathering issue fixed by the dealer and new front tires installed, and no recurring yet after 5k miles. Do you think it's a deal or I should pick up a newer Z without the tire feathering problem. Any input, thanks.

The guy is like 55 yrs old, he's our credit dept. manager. It's his toy so the car only has 20k miles after 3 years. Also on top of that, he also got the extended 6-year warranty and will transfer it to me. I think it's a killer deal just worrying about the tire feathering thing too much.

Yes already carfaxed it, which I think is really not needed as we've been working together for years and he's an honest guy. The dealer gave him additional warranty on the feathering tires, do you think it's transferrable to me if I buy the car?

that is a good deal... as far as others getting a Z for under 20... it can be done the trade in value on some of the 03's are under 20k so the dealerships can sell you the car for under 20 and still make money. Heck I would be willing to bet I my car would trade in for just under 20k and its an 04.

The carfax I think costs $19 for a single report and $25 for unlimited reported good for 30 days, which is no brainer. I had it since looking for cars and have carfaxed like 50 cars already and also my totalled DSM. Hehe it's sad to see that the carfax shows "Warning! This car has a salvage title" for my totalled car. Yes I think he tried trading it in but he would probably get $16-17k max that's why he sold it to me, both of us are better off.

Just a little history, I'd been a DSMer for 2 yrs and I had a 300hp Eclipse GST which I smoked a couple G35s easily (haven't raced with a Z yet). But too bad it flipped over and totalled and I learnt from it, so I got this Z which looks 10x better and still reasonably fast. Drive carefully guys. peace.

Sounds like a great deal to me too. Dont worry about the feathering thing because its an 03. 03, 04, 05 all feather. Doesnt matter what year really. Suspension design has not changed, only alignment specs. BEN

Woohoo...just picked up the car..nice! not as powerful as I want but man does it look nice... also the clutch throw is kinda long...any mods for this yet? In my old eclipse that's a stopper that you can adjust to make the clutch throw longer or shorter.. Will post some pics tomorrow since it's already late

Picked up my car yesterday, here are the pictures I promised. Haven't cleaned it up yet all messy inside and dirty outside. Well I can't keep those wheels the seller said the price is too low that he had to give me the stock wheels, but I'm not a fan of chrome wheels anyway. And he changed the cloth seats to leather seats which looks very nice in my opinion, just like OEM but without the ugly burnt orange color, again IMO. Let me know what you guys think.
