Been there, done that with a mercedes in the middle of no where. Finally got a locksmith to open the car which set off the horn. Disconnected the car battery which again set off the horn (explain that one!) and finally could open the trunk with the inside trunk release. Now I always unlock the car before I use the remote trunk release.

I musta gone to the same place. I didn't buy the car from there. wonder if someone showed all the salespeople that feature and it's the only thing they retained. it was the first thing my salesperson showed me. I was thinking "why would I want to know how to work the car when it's not working?"

Obvious question buuuuuut, doesn't that mean we can all break into each others cars just by opening the hatch? I don't think I like that.

Also checked my oil for the first time today.....man that was a struggle!

Silverstone...what are you smoking? That button is just like the same button on many other cars. If the trunk isn't unlocked it doesn't do anything.

that button feeds through the BCM (body control module) and is disabled when the car is locked.

The windows can also be rolled up or down using the key.

Real usefull when it starts raining during a BBQ ! No need to get in the car, just lock and hold and up goes the windows !

With the KEY.

Insert the key in the door lock and turn to lock and then hold. For some reason, it doesn't work with the keyfob (probably safety stuff)

True, however there is an aftermarket module you can install that will allow you to use your keyfob to roll the windows up as well. Not sure who is selling it these days though.

Oh, you have to use the key to roll up the windows? That's not quite as cool. VW was doing that years ago.

Don't forget the reserve engine oil release that's activated by holding down the power button on the Bose while moving the driver's side door mirror all the way to the left. That'll teach those cops to chase you on the highway! Knight Rider all the way!

I'm surprised by how wow'd everyone is by the remote functions of this vehicle considering my old accord had the very same capabilities standard.

Default remote

Aren't your sales rep supposed to show you how everything works on your car before you take the keys? Mine did...showed me how to work everything (at least the important stuff), power windows, remote, trunk/hatch release, hood release, etc....
