Default STUPID question, but can you open hatch W/O remote?

OK, so I got my Z about a month ago...I cannot find where(if there even is a way) the button is inside the car to pop the hatch? Do you always have to turn the car off, take the keys out, and use the remote to pop the trunk? If so, thats really stupid but I"ve never heard or saw a car like this so I know there has to be another way. Sorry for sucha noob question but it is really frustrating.

I don't know about the coupe, but on the roadster, there is a button above the license plate that you depress to open the trunk without the remote.

1. You can open the hatch from outside. There’s a small rubber push bar just above the license plate.

2. For emergencies, you can open the hatch from inside. Look under the rear strut brace for a pull ring.

RTM. The manual is your friend. If you didn't get one with your car, buy one. It's a handy tool, really.

in case you get locked in on the other side of the strut and cant crawl between the brace. sorta like getting locked inside your trunk.

LOL, that is the only information that my salesman knew. He was sure to tell me in way too much detail. He couldn't open the hood or tell me what size the engine was but he's an expert at that back hatch.

Hey, who cares about the engine, I only bought the Z for the abundant trunk space.

I feel much better after reading this thread... I thought I was the only tool who had to read the manual to open the back trunk lid

There are all sorts of crazy things about our cars that you wont know about if you didnt read the manual. My favorite is when I found out you can roll the windows down by holding unlock on your key fob when walking towards your car. There is also I capachino machine behind the driver seat, you have to removed the plastic cover first to see it. Good luck. BEN
