STUPID question, but can you open hatch W/O remote?

My salesguy had trouble finding the remote...let alone knowing how it works.

My sales guy was excellent. He showed me all the features of the car before I drove away with it....Of course, barring that, there's always the owners manual, which nobody seems to read. I read mine from cover to cover.

if you can fit in that area your going to need more help getting out of the hatch that that release under the brace because both your legs are probably broken and your hips are dislocated.

im pretty sure its if the battery dies or for some reason the release actuator in the hatch fails because to me it seems like its a cable directly to the latch itself, opening it without the use of any eletronics.
