350vs s2000
i'm not gonna go through all that trouble just to prove something to u. i do a lot of reading about cars on the websites of automotive mags like motortrend, car and driver, and road and track. if u want u can try to find the article, or u can just take my word. i have no reason to make up crap about the s2000. i was even thinking about trading in my z for one, but that article changed my mind.

I find that very hard to believe. From a dig?

From a dig yes. You don't have to believe me. I don't really have a way to prove it to you, but it was at our little local street racing thing that goes on every weekend.
actually s2000 is an extremely fast car, stock vs stock with proper launch it can beat a 350z.... yes i know v-tec 6000 rpm clutch drop. The rev to 9000 rpm, the crisp handling, the top down driving experience, oh and the tranny its definately the best car in its class... i was 99.99% set on an s2000 and im driving a 350z what'd ya say~!? =\
Oh btw my Z rox!

I sold my s2k about a year ago and now I have a Z. The s2k is a little more entertaining to drive, but the 350Z is still a blast. Both are great cars IMO and appeal in seperate and unique ways.

Any official source will tell you that stock for stock an S will pull on a Z from 0-40 (hence the better quarter mile and 0-60) and the Z won't pull back until over 100 because of it's displacement. sorry, i'm no troll but i couldn't let you think that 45hp/500lbs of extra weight would make you quicker than an S.
hate it or love it, that's how it is.

I have never dropped the clutch in an s2000, must be fun. My buddy has an insider track to a small auto wholesaler who buys cars from auction, and sells them. He got his hands on an s2000 one time, and we had a little fun in it.
However, it was straight from auction, with a bad alignment and balance. I got on it pretty hard from a roll, caught 3rd somewhere in the vicinity of 80mph, and the rear-end tried to become the front-end for a split second.
Was very enlightening

hmmmm...i don't see why anyone would buy a 350z or a S2000 if they wanted speed....pick up a used camaro, mustang SVT, or C5 and be deep into the 13's if not high 12's.....even new you can get a STi for the same price and be deep into the 13's.
Now if you want top down driving, a light, tossable roadster, i can't see anything better than a S2000 short of a porsche boxster......i'd prefer the S2000 over the 350z roadster just cause the S2000 is much lighter and better proportioned as a roadster IMO (purely subjective i know). If you want a sports car for 30K, a 350Z would be a smart choice short of a C6 or porsche cayman (never driven one though..but i'm going to assume a fixed top boxster is damn good).

American Muscle Cars have their place.....and that would be my mechanic's shop every month or so for electrical, mechanical, or tranny problems...Plus Chevy and Ford ...after ALL THESE YEARS...STILL CAN'T make a high quality short throw shifter.
Ford and Chevy MAY have improved MT over the years somewhat, but I remember NOT buying a Fiero 5-spd MT (got the AT instead)..a looong time ago, because the MT sucked that BAD....for those who may remember THAT car....you actually had to reach UP to shift gears (at approx. the same angle as it would be for your BENT right arm would touch the dash of the Z).
Plus, it shifted rough like an old pick-up truck...yeesh!
