Angry Yo Jay....please Do Something Quick

I dont know about you....or the guys on this site...but this forum was a retreat from the unique individuals over at Zcar.com.

I remeber when Jay=jmanz had zero tolerance and would kick your booty out and wouldnt put up with crap. I guess that was when he just started this sight. I know even though i dont post a reply every time like many others. I have been on my350z since it started and read it everyday.
I remeber when Z would ban the Bronx(banned guy) type people in a heartbeat.

This forum was great.

Now, Im fearing the fact that it just went mainstream and attracted unique individuals that so many have turned away from.

Well Jay....I think you rock and you have been a badazz **** with all your help emails and personal touches over the past months.

I wanna see the Jmanz of old. Please dont let this turn into another ZCAR.COM....

I just dont want these disrespecful posts i have been reading to get anymore out of hand.

You know, InternetABYSS, you can always click on the link in the lower right corner of a post to report it to a moderator if you think it needs attention.

everyone should be able to voice their opinions. the good, bad, and the ugly. I can understand why some of the so called "true Z enthusiast" would want to only hear positive remarks, but lets be real. If you guys shut out the negative remarks, you only create a utopia for yourselves. I get the feeling that's what some of you want, which is too bad. I like to hear both positive and negative critizisms about the car.

I've been reading posts everyday since I signed up.

My general impression is that most of the negative posts from the last couple of days are from people who set too high and somewhat unreasonable expectations themselves. Is it my imagination or are they the same people that were hyping up the track against the other models?

It's OK to criticize if warranted; however, Nissan has delivered on all their promises for this car.

Also, why is Jay becoming the bad guy for not revealing confidential information?

You hamburger head! quote made by a newbie to jmanz.

Whats a hamburger head????

Yes i again i like factual pros and cons....Im not living in my own little z world. This will be my first Z by the way.

I Personally dont like anyone smarting off to Jay because he has done so much for us and has used alot of cash of his own to make waiting for this car a fun experience. If not I think i would have caved and bought another car by now.

What I personally like about this forum and the way the old members talk about facts and / or opions but the difference between now and then is that most opions on here are made by mindless blurts of uneducated remarks like some of these new posters. It sems they are just typing the first thing that comes out of there head. Please think of something smart to say pro or con.

I enjoy reading cons about the 350z car especially if they got good reasons to back up the opinion.

I think im getting tired of reading the emotional posts from those people that just found out the Z was coming out and havent been waiting for ever like some of us.

I for one take this new info as a grain of salt. These newbies....If they have been waiting as long as most preorders then they can wait a week more to get the final info.

If after absorbing all the info and they are emotionally unstable because the car doesnt have 350hp and 0-60 in 4 seconds. Then keep it to yourself and go surf on the corvette forum.

I pesonally dont like somone slamming the car that i have been saving 25k for the past 6 months and driving a piece of sh** to save money for it. I'm excited so please don't ruin the last lap for the actual 1st allocation loyal 350z buyers.

Exsilio, this from a guy who dares to sit in a Z!

Seriously, I agree with you and Zbart wholeheartedly.

The personality of the site has changed dramatically in the last 24 hours but as I told Jay offline, most of the debates are rather innocuous and entertaining.

That said, I believe it's unfortunate so many members have either formed their opinion or changed their opinion based on one review of a pre-production vehicle. Better days and better news are certainly still ahead of us.

Default If...

you ban everyone who has posted a post that was inane, a bit warm if not flaming(or even flaming), or who disagrees with something that the "oldtimers" on this site subscribe to, you might as well change the name of the site to me.jmanz.com or justour350z.com. or we350zmoderators.com. I posted a while back and had the post deleted because it was felt that the post would offend some members. Maybe so. The post was said to be just wrong and that I should not do such a post in the future. Since then, I have seen many stupid, juvenile posts that seem to me to not have any place here. They did not deal with any substantial subject except silliness or showing what a smart-*** the poster was. Others are downright insulting. Maybe some of the members (maybe even some charter members) get sick of seeing posts that seem to attempt to deify Jay or just plain kiss his ***. I think it's OK to see a little of the opposite. It's healthy. I have seen evidence to the contrary, but if I see indications that true expression of opinion is being suppressed (as some of the charter members and some others seem to try to do at times) I will be on my way. I think that this site is good in many ways, but there is a strong sense that one is dealing with a self-perceived elitist group-particularly by anyone who may cast the slightest negative comment towards the "establishment" of the site. There is no way that everything that you all(or me) do not like can be eradicated from the site. Unless, it is simply all deleted by the moderators or it becomes a requirement for membership to submit a pedigree that must be approved. I agree that Bronxwarrior took things over the line, but I don't see things getting anywhere near that problematic level here. I just do not want totalitarianism to become the norm here. Discussion and information sharing should be the purpose of the site. I am not saying I am without guilt in some instances of getting on the flaming bandwagon. Let's try not to have this site degrade to the level of an Amway group where you cannot question anything. IMHHHHHHHO.

Default Well'

I think I should mention that I began writing the above post after I read the first post in the thread. I saw some really good sentiments expressed when I returned to the thread. Maybe I sounded harsh, but that's how I see it going down sometimes. The replys are most refreshing. Thanks.

PS: I am not posting this so I can save my *** as someone suggested of another post I made.

olzilver,

Don't worry, buddy. This isn't and never will a totalitarian state. Jeez, just look at todays smorgasborg of...well...opinions...and you'll see that differing viewpoints will not be suppressed. What won't be tolerated is belittling or insulting behavior towards other members. Everyone in here has the right to voice their opinion freely, and feel comfortable doing so, knowing that some idiot isn't going to come back calling them every name in the book because they don't agree. This is a topic that Jay, the moderators and charters discussed at length when the site was formed. And we will stick to it. So have fun, and no need to pack your bags just yet.

Negative comments on a car aren't a bad thing at all, but don't u guys think that's too much, i mean not too much with different negative comments but too much with the same complaint again and again, u know, sometime i really had a headache reading these posts. i say people who complaint, pls just reply to a single topic and not making several complaints in several topics. i just can't accept there's like a whole bunch of same complaint posts when i get up in the morning like 2 separate topics on the weigh, then 2 on the .88 skid pad yada yada~

InternetABYSS,

Don't take this offensively, but your continued use of incorrect spelling and grammatical errors are giving me a headache! When quoting someone, please use quotation marks. That's what they are there for.

You call people "Newbies" and proceed to curse... showing that YOU are the one getting a little emotional.

It seems odd to me that your post is a bit hypocritical.

That is my opinion.
