the good thing is that it will be under factory warranty so u dont have to worry if u jack up your clutch. but i thought learning stick in the z was easy. it has lots of low end power so it is easy to take off. my first stick was a civic, and it was so hard to take off because it had no low end power, and i stalled so many times because i couldnt get the freakin thing to start moving.

 

Dude I was in the exact same situation as you. I bought my car a couple months ago and never even drove a stick before . The salesman was kind enough to drive it home for me . After a couple days of burning the clutch in, I was able to drive my car with ease. It's very easy one you master the timing. Once you get it into first gear without dying, you're set...the rest is easy.

 

You'll do fine. I just learned how to drive a stick 6 months ago and my Z which is my first car is a stick. Automatics bore me

 

Next recommended step (after you've mastered shifting):

Take the 350Z to an empty parking lot in the rain. Do some figure eights. This isn't for fun, but to learn how the car handles. Push the Z until you get it to oversteer. Also practice understeer. Understeering may be a bit more difficult because your brain may be refusing the let you force the car to understeer. Big parking lot. Empty.

Also check ABS. 40 mph on a wet desolate road. Then 50 and 60 mph. Hit the brakes hard!

A wet surface is a worse case scenario. Practice. In an emergency situation, you’ll know what to do (and what not to do). Happy driving.

 

You will do fine.
The only concern that you should have is in case you stall at a red to green light. and some fools hits your back bumper. Take your time at a light change and if you feel the engine start to slightly shudder just push the cluth pedal back down and release it again adding more gas as you do so.
After a few days it will all come together. Enjoy the 6sp, for me the only way, in a car like this. My brother has an 05 Z auto cool to drive through the gears, but I prefer the old way.
