Turned 58 Monday, but only have gone 110, in this car. Once did 120 in my 3000 GT.

Believe me, you're only as old as you feel and I still feel like a kid, especially when I'm driving my Z!!

I'm 60 - haven't had the new Z past 90 yet. But I agree with AudioPat. My SCCA and vintage lap times have steadily dropped over the last 20 years as I got more relaxed and smoother. If you look at the lap times and speeds of "our kind" today in vintage racing, most of us are faster than we were as young hot shots in the same cars on street tires (and today's street tires are not that much better than good racing tires were in the '70s).

A lot of my friends in vintage racing were SCCA national competitors in the '60s and '70s, and almost all are better and faster drivers today in THEIR 60s and 70s.

Very cool, guys! Who said we need to grow up and flight right! At 48, I fully expect to be having fun for the next 20+ years. This is the best time of life. Kids almost in college and I am enjoying modding these cars with my sons. The car and I are as one. I am a "spirited" driver and love every minute I'm in this Z.

The best time of your life is always NOW. It will get better - our younger one just graduated from law school and is WORKING!!! NO MORE BILLS!!!

We're a racing family, so I've spent many many weekends at the track with my wife, kids and life-long friends. We miss that, now that one kid lives abroad and the other works long, hard hours. I took both to Bertil Roos' racing school when they were old enough, and we've had some wonderful times together.

Now I'm starting a vintager racer 356 for the esquire and me. So the adventure lasts a lifetime if you're lucky enough.
