Did you guys notice:
Underneath the floor of the glove box there is a seperate compartment. I found this cleaning out the glove box the other day. I thought the floor was the floor. But, if you lift the bottom of the box there is a ~1.5"x9"x11" tray under there to put your 350Z Owners manual and maybe some driving gloves.
I keep finding stuff that I didn't see before.

Wait...the panel on the drivers side? I was thinking maybe the panel on the driver side might have been another glove box, but I noticed that it doesn't open

Yes, I did find that one. Thanks !!! Any other secret compartments?
If you unclip the top and pull up carefully the panel comes off easily and you could store a bunch of stuff there. I was trying to figure outhow to turn that into a second glove box but haven't figured it out yet. Maybe I will take off the clips install magnets and put a rubbermaid box in their for storage. Do not know yet. I think I might work on this a little later today and see what I can come up with. Some people use this for a sub-woofer and amp install location. That is where the stock sub-woofer location is normally.
I found the tray location when I replaced the speakers back there.
I couldn't believe you had to take out so much just to replace the speakers.
In this regard, I wish I was still working on my Z31. Much easier to replace rear speakers that is for sure.

Performancenissanparts.com sells a kit that allows you to transform this area (which houses the subwoofer on Z's with that option) into a glove box. Basically they just put together all the factory parts needed to install the glove box and sell it as a kit. Search around their site and you'll find it.

I happened across it also. Good for insurance, owner's manual, etc. Are there more secret compartments?

used to use it, until I stripped it all out and put two 10" Alpine Type S subs the replace those pockets. I just leave owner's manual under passenger seat. I didn't want to stretch the pocket behind the passenger seat.

"btw - side note - with the base stereo you can then make another cubby hole behind the drivers seat - pop the plastic cap / unscrew all the bolts for the empty woofer bracket and line it with cheap carpet -/ cheap plastic **** from home depot at top to open / small metal dowel at bottom to holes at side for hinge
i keep my autocross helmet / supplies there - or perhaps a small child could ride there if you drilled air holes- burntZ"

Another good thing is if you put your cold case of beer under the mat where your spare tire would go it stays cold even the day after. Also good hiding place from the cops incase you got pulled over going to a party ect.
