Honestly, I was shocked when I stabbed my seat with a knife and it actually went through the leather, what kind of **** is that? Needless to say, I crashed my 350z into a semi hauling gasoline for Exxon, they both went up in flames...

hmpf! Last time I buy **** from nissan, the CHEAPEST(quality), 30K I've ever spent.

Ever stop to think that maybe its not nissans fault your door handle broke off and maybe some jackass that got out of you car one day broke it and didnt tell you? And then managed to pop it back in there untill the next time it was used. Theres not other reason for it to just fall out. Someone broke it. Maybe you should give your friends a lesson on opening your door.

It's the interior door handle used to close the door. I will get pics up asap but I need to go get a new battery for my digicam unless you want shitty camera phone pics.

I'm sorry to hear that your door handle came off on you. If it is a quality control issue it's more likely that it was just your car for some reason because I've never heard of the problem before.

If you think the Z's interior is bad try sitting in a Corvette. It's like a slightly upgraded Cavalier.

Really though, despite everyone in the world putting down the Z for its interior, it's not bad. The only problem I see is that they didn't really upgrade the interior much between the upper $20k base models and mid to upper $30k high-end models. Just leather really isn't enough. But there is also a lot of double standards going on... like the Scion TC gets all kinds of raves for having a textured dashboard and door panels that don't look like fake leather. But the Z gets put down by the same magazines for having a textured center console and door panels instead of plain because it looks "cheap".

Bump for my unanswered question and pics of the damage.

My passenger door was fine. I then took the car in for the window grease TSB and they had to take apart both doors to replace the motors.

After I got it back, I notice the aluminium part of the passenger door handle was all scratched up so I called them to get them to fix what they had damaged. While waiting for the appointment, I drove my boss home and he went to close the door with the handle and the bottom part of the handle came off.

When I went to the appointment, I told them about the loose hanlde. After I got the car back. I got a new aluminium plate and the door handle is not loose anymore.

Still sturdy to this day.

And about you getting a G35... I'm sure there are some interior complients as well. Nothing is perfect.

And I'd rather have a loose passenger door handle then have the interior of the G35. It was just made for another age braket. I feel like an old man when I'm in the G35. And WTF is up with the analog clock and the dome shape middle part? Couldn't they find a way to make the G35 look luxo as well as not make you feel like you're 80?

This still doesnt make sense, the entire handle that you grab on the inside of the door came off? Or just like the aluminum covering thats on the face of the handle? I dont see that entire peice just falling off.

Hey DLAW, i got a question for you, did you by any chance have anyone work on your car doors like put speakers in or maybe fix a window because my door handle is loose as hell too and it has been that way ever since my car was broken into and i had to have them replace the window. On the back of the door there is a nut holding it on both sides, people tend to be to lazy to rench it on so they hand tighten it and it gets loose again, it has happened to me twice so far so i am taking care of it myself. And although i love my car and i would rather take of the door handle over trade it in, for 32K they could have definitly put a little more effort into the interior, i like the plain effect cuz i hate things being to flashy but all the plastic is very cheap and breaks easy. If they didnt spend that much time on the interior then how come our engines cant come stock with 300rwhp, the car is so sexy but like anything it has its little flaws. Still love it though.

BtW, I believe the Maxima is the Nissan flagship, not the Z.

I was taking a girl out on a date and when she was closing the door the handle flew off, how timely. I went to the service dept knowing there was little I could do. I *****ed at them for a while arguing that no car especially their flagship should have the interior falling apart in 2 years. So now I have to find time to get the car in there to fix it. I am assuming it is just some cheap plastic piece inside or maybe the whole door panel, who knows. Regardless I don't see getting out of there for less than a couple hundred bucks. This has me considering trading up for a G coupe or 3 series. I shouldn't have to put up with this kind of crap.

**Rant off
LOL yer contemplating selling your Z because a door handle came off?

Calm down, relax and go drive the damn thing man.. It's not a perfect world, things break.

If cars are ships, can the Armada be a whole armada?

I did the same thing. I briefly sat in an 03 and decided I would never buy the car. I drove my friends 05 a few months later and bought mine shortly thereafter.

Granted, the 03 had the stupid door that looked broken (above the radio) and the interior was more of a gray than the black mine is now

I don't give 2 shlts about the quality of the interior. I could be sitting on a cardboard box on the floor as long as the thing handles like it's on rails and goes like a bat outta hell.

I always read reviews on car sites that state "interior not up to par" or "low grade interior components." I' always think WTF...I'd much rather a car company put $5K into the engine and take it away from the interior. I don't need leather underneath my a$$, I need more horses pulling my a$$ along!

I don't know...I'm the kind of guy who said "FINALLY" when they made the lotus Elise, while everyone else was saying...."but where are lumbar supports?"
+1. Personally, the interior fits me to a T. Just enough "stuff" and not too much flash. If I wanted plush, I would have loaded up a G, and even then, I didnt really love that interior either. Z's interior is perfect for me.

The car has 36,000 miles. The inside door handle came off, and your considering trading it in? Wow. You're standards are very high.

My God some of you people are impatient. I can hardly believe I am getting flamed for this honestly. And next time I will try to make it more clear, "the handle came off" means well... look at the crappy camera phone pics...

Also no stereo work has been done on the car. The door panel hasn't been off.
