Default Lots of Zs???

Not sure if this is the same everywhere else, so I thought I would ask...

Has anyone else noticed the increasing number of Zs sitting on Nissan lots? For a long time, there were none to be seen here around Charlotte. But in this past week, I've seen eight or so collectively at three dealerships. These weren't preorders... they were cars blatantly parked at the fronts of lots to draw people in.

Wonder if demand has dropped a bit (due to economy or whatever) or if the dealers are now getting their "stock" items and marking them up too much...

Hey McDuck, I just sold my 90TT today! I have been informed that my 350z is on the boat and the boat is due in around the 10th of January. I guess from there its on the way to Burlington ! Anyway keep me in mind when i get my Z. I would love to get up and hang out sometime after the Z arrives. My email is gtbuzzbee@aol.com. Talk to you soon. Later, Buzz!

I really havn't noticed many "Z's" on lots in the NYC area.. But.. This is winter and I really don't know too many people who will but a new car at this time of year..I'm sure when the warm weather returns (soon I hope...) there will be many more "Z's" on the road instead of dealers lots...

Theres a crapload of em in Universal City Nissan, ofcourse thats probably because of their price gouging, there is also a few at the dealership where I got mine.

They don't sit on the lots here in FL--but I just got back from Boston and there were about 7 outside of a dealer about 20 mins outside of Boston on Rt 1.

I think buyers are opting for cars that are more friendly to the wintery conditions in certain areas.

Cool I think there's a good supply!

The economy is not good.
We're going to war( I hope not).
It's going into winter here in the upper midwest.
I talked with a dealer in Omaha, Ne and told my plan of
ordering in Jan.(dead of winter). I assume that it will take a
good 3 month, so I'm ready for spring. He informs me that
a car can come sooner because of the economy and ask if he
can keep the car in the showroom for about 3 weeks, locked
just for display. (Not of people to ride or drive). So, depending
on what part of the country you are, a Z may be available.

I pass a Nissan everyday---
3 weeks ago- there was a black track--
then a redline performance
Then a Sunset touring AT
Today when I went to check them out, there was a silverstone one too!!!
They said that this is their normal allotment! Just sitting in the ice and snow!!! Too bad for those poor Z's - no love.... yet!

slareau02...

No... no Silverstone... have seen one Redline, two Daytona Blue, two Chrome Silver, a Super Black, and a PPW. Hmm... guess that's 7, not 8...

I think the dealers are starting to get there allotment of cars, while the pre-orders finish taking their delivery. Now that the cars are being seen on the road and in ads, people want to go and get them. Can't do this is they aren't at the dealerships. At least I hope that's what it's all about. With them building 30,000 of them this year and sending something like 75% of those to the US, there still won't be that many of them on the road.

They come in like 5-10 at a time. So at certain parts of the month (usually mid month) you have more than others. Checked the inventory every now and then. In my area, they move pretty fast. Strange thing is I rarely see them on the streets. Saw two during Thanksgiving...none before or after.

I've seen a TON of G35s lately. But I still rarely ever see Zs. Most of the ones I've seen on lots are the expensive models in the less desirable colors.

Also, Nissan's dealer inventory info on their website hasn't ever even been close to right. I've emailed dealers about stuff on the page and they have never had the vehicles that the website said they did.
