Those who have tinted windows, q's?
I'm pretty much set on getting my windows tinted shortly and had a few q's for those who have tints. I'm looking at 35% for the driver/pass windows and 20% for rear quarter windows and rear hatch glass. To those who have 20% tint on the rear glass, how is night visibility? The shop owner i was talking to said many SUV's and trucks come from the factory with a rear glass window tint of 20% and since its stock, shouldnt be an issue. I'd just like to be sure its alright at night before I go ahead with it. Thanks.
It's fine. I have the exact setup that you want, 35% for the front windows and 20% for the smaller rears and back window. Visibility at night is fine. I thought it would be harder to see, but you can see just fine. You can see a lot better if there is lighting around, if not, you may need to roll down your windows for better vision when backing up.
In a number of states, that's the legal limit. Personally, I've got 15% all around with 50% on the entire front windshield. I thought it would be too dark, but it's not. I LOVE it. On my super black, it makes the car pop.

If I had to do it again, I would do 20% for the front and rear windows. For the small quarter panel window, I did limo tint. It looks really nice and brings out the lines of the Z much better. I have pictures posted in the thread.

Yeah, just worry about your blindspots. Also get the window stop "grease marks" replaced. I didn't do that on mine soon enough and it actually ate into the tint where it stops the window.
I've got limo tint on the rear and little sides, then 35% on the front driver/passenger windows. I can forget about seeing in the dark behind me, but the front windows aren't bad at all. I wish I could get darker than 35 cuz you hardly tell in the sun.

Rollin' all shady-like in the 'hood
i have 20% all around (except front) and everything is fine in the city.
If somehow you will find yourself on a cornfield - you will need to roll you windows to see anything on the side
That happened to me when I went to Wisconsin.. it was a night time, no external light (except moon and stars) and with my windows up I couldnt see $hit.
But go with the 20% - it looks nice, and is not 2 dark. That was my first mod on my Z... my first mod on all cars that I had previously

20% all around is perfect for the Z, and for gods sake, if you ever get pulled over by the police, instantly lower both windows so they can see you clearly. I have friends who are cops here in VA and PA and they always tell me how scary it is for them to approach a dark tinted car, not having any idea what is going to happen when the front windows roll down right in front of them. Plus, they will appreciate that you understand and respect their safety.
