Default Getting ready to buy my Z, HELP!

I am getting ready to puchase my Z and trying to decide between a 2005 from a dealer or getting a used 2004 with low miles.

I have been looking at the Touring package and think its the best one for me. (not sure exactly what it has other then the leather and auto seats)
The only options I would like are:

Car is silver or black
Leather interior
Manual trans.
navigation is a plus!

everything else I can work with......
I have a budget of around $28,000 , Anyone have any suggestions?

Contact all the Nissan dealer ships in your area and get a list of cars that meet your criteria via email or Fax and get PRICES be sure to let them know you are shopping around for the lowest price if they do not give you a price move on to the next dealer. There are plenty of cars out there. Also look at autotrader.com I would say your first step is deciding on used or new. I was in your shoes about 2 weeks ago and I decided new just for piece of mind and I just wanted a new car. hope this helps ya.

Just out of curiosity, are you concerned about the risk of buying used? Risk meaning that the original owner has abused the car? Used car prices are discounted for risk and other characteristics. New or used, both will be a 350Z. Both will put a big smile on your face.

Good luck with a $28,000 budget, the cheapest base model Z at the dealer where I live was almost $29,000 and the touring they had on showroom was $42,000. but according to Nissan website my dealer looks incredibly over priced.

You can buy my 05 SS Touring (no nav, though)...only 790 miles. I should have bought another bike instead.

If the $28,000 includes tax & license, your not going to be able to buy a new Touring model.

Have you considered an Enthisiast model?

Eiso...I just want to unload it. Oh yeah...it has the Nismo exhaust as well.

Backstory in case you care...

I had a motorcycle accident in March (car pulled out in front of me and I hit it) and broke my wrist. I was med down for 3 months after that. I swore off bikes until I got done with flight school at least. Just happened to watch some old video of one of my track days recently and I'm feeling the urge again. Also feeling that urge to rip up Deal's Gap again on a bike.

Anyway, I got the car as replacement for the bike...just wanted a fast toy. The car's great, but 3 vehicles would be a bit much for me if I ever hope to buy a house.

One more thing for anyone who owns a motorcycle. If you haven't done a track day, do one. It's awesome.

Thanks for all the info.....I am going to contact the dealers in my area today and tomorrow.

AS far as being worried about buying used....I would not get anything with over 15k miles and I guess you would just have to hope that anyone who owned a Z would have loved it and taken care of it as much as we will! But yes, buying new would be my first preference.

Does anyone know when the body style for the Z is going to change? 07'? 08'?

if you are worried about the risk, get the 05. if you get the 04, remember that those models have tire and tranny problems. Also, check the history of the 04, had it had those problems in the past, was it fix etc...

I belive its the 07 thats gonna change. Good luck and let us know if you get one or not.

The body style is changing in 07'?? that is less then 1 year from now!! are you sure about that?

I called a local dealership today and they have a Black 2005 350Z Touring for $30k new!

Im sure I can get them down a couple thousand ..........just trying to decide if its worth it to get a 2004 with 10-15k and save $5k+
