To those thinking that a factory Nismo 350z might be available because of the new "take me driving" commercial, you're gonna have to build one.

“Take me driving in your car”
Advertising Q & A – Top Ten Questions Asked by Consumers
Starts airing September 3, 2005
This new Z spot makes two points. Point one: It simply shows - JOY. It illustrates, in no uncertain terms, the sheer JOY of driving the new Z. Woody Guthrie’s “Take me riding” is a whimsical, fun, folksy tune that - when juxtaposed with fast, modern, driving footage – it speaks volumes about the love we have with sports cars and, in particular, the love affair we all have with the Z. The footage is simply a partner with this song. It gives the song a modern twist. It’s fast, confident and aggressive. We need to take the world on a drive in the Z. We need to “Take them driving in OUR car”. Point two: The spot shows three versions of the Z. It offers up our “family” of Z’s for the world to drool over. And the three are; The Roadster, The Coupe and a modified “NISMO” version - for those among us who customize and make better what is already perfect.

Interesting. Thanks for posting that. I personally don't think there would be much of a market for a NISMO car anyway. Most guys who are into performance to the extent they would appreciate NISMO, do their own mods anyway.
I was sure we weren't going to see a Nismo version from factory after learning that the max MSRP for an '06 Z will be 39,900. Nismo couldn't have been that cheap, as Nissan would have atleast taken the Touring edition (if not GT) and added Nismo parts to it.
Besides, even in Japan, Nissan makes only 20 Nismo Z's each year. Why would they make hundreds here and thus dilute the brand back in Japan?

they dont actually make them over there either right off the factory line
they got a partnership shop network system set up where you take the car to a nismo tuner they offer "complete cars" and and have a car's factory
where you can buy the car already with that package
look under shop guide or car's factory to see the option they offer

I'm glad the factory Nismo won't be available as is. If they do come out with one, I would hope it would have some serious power upgrades (like an M or an AMG). If all they are doing is body work and suspension improvements then its more like mazdaspeed (well maybe better than that).

EDIT: Sorry, no idea on the invoice on it. But I guess it must be around $2,500 or so less.
