I wouldn't read a whole lot into it. Historically, it's always been referred to as "the Z" and "Z cars". The numeric engine designation is only used to classify the various models.

And yes, eventually the 350 will be replaced by something else... 400 .. 450 ... 470...
Now they won't have to worry about updating so much of the website.

I believe its a SCCA racing class...Not too familiar with it but I saw the results on another site...
