Default Opinions about your Z.

I know i bought a performance car & the interior isn't the most important, but looking at all the news from every year's Z tune up, finally the 06z come out,
I don't know about you guys, but I think i would be a lot more satisfied about my car if it looks like the 06z when i bought it,

I love my Z, everything about it ( except the minor problems ,tire alignment, rattle, and some minor problems...etc ) but every year nissan is making many changes to it, to a point that i REALLY envy people who buy the 06z , but i don't think it would worth it to trade in mine 03 for the 06

anywayz, don't know what you guys think, but I HATE NISSAN!!!
i hope they have some kind of upgrade program to upgrade your interior.

He's getting jealous of new changes to 06 model..
it seems that he doesn't want nissan to do anything to improve newer model so that his 03 model is 'up to date'

You'll drive yourself crazy if you try and trade your car in for every upgrade. Who cares, get some bride seats, do some custom stuff to dress the interior up (be creative) and then every 06 owner will want your interior. Btw i dont' envy people who buy the 06, i like having more torque in my motor.

Yeah, that just sucks every year! lol But think of how much fun you've had the past 2+ years with YOUR Z.

I like the new Z too. It would be nice if those new LED tailights are interchangable. I would definately go with a set of those!!!!

Thats not a good thing

There are reasons reason why manufacturers add features to successive model years. 1) To promote more interest in the car. 2) To "fix" some issues that owners complain about. 3) To update the car with newer technology (ie: mp3 players, bi-xenon headlights, etc).

Sounds like it is just more than the interior that you have problems with.

It's unfortunate that the first year or two of new model cars have problems the manufacture has to work through and the consumer has to deal with. I was real close to buying a Z when they first came out, but after reading the issues on this forum I held off and waited. I eventually came back and got an '05, hoping they had resolved some of those initial problems. Crossing my fingers at this point.

After looking at everything else out there in the same category and other categories, I felt it was the best looking, performance oriented car for the price, and still do. Particularly after running that Porsche Configurator on the Cayman S.

Glad you asked the question.

Here's the cars I was looking at to buy:

1) Corvette - Hot looking car, great performance. Steep price tag even for used, would have had to look at an older model that had some miles on it.

2) Sub Wrx STi - Great stock performance out of the gates, it has AWD, BUT, the car is seriously ugly and it's 4 door. Reminds me of those races in Europe where guys are driving around on dirt roads. Blecch! Sorry, but I need a car that has some head-turning looks too.

3) SC Saleen - Awesome looks, mean. The sound of the SC kicking in was incredible. The car handled pretty good, but had more of a straightline feel to it. Noise in the cabin was too loud, didn't like that at all. Price was ok, more than the Z though. Overall stiffness and noise was a turn-off.

So, I ended up buying the Z. IMHO, the Z has it all. I think that only 2 cars on the road besides the rare and true exotics command the looks and attention the way the Z and Vette does. The 287 horses, torque and very wide powerband made it a no-brainer to choose this car. There is a lot of power at my disposal, even it's current stock condition, I pass cars with effortless refined ease.

I've blown away beemers, stangs and ricers. The sound of the stock exhaust is great in itself. The interior is fine with me I don't understand why people keep bashing it. Oh, just the beauty of the car, The Z is one of those cars that just has incredibly sexy looks but at the same time looks formidable. The Z car rules the road hands down because it has it all. The only thing that I was dissapointed with was the quality of the paint job, my Integra paint was superb even after 9 years of ownership. D@mn rock chips on the front bumper.

Somewhere hidden deep inside this post is a question. I think. Or is it like one of those riddles that always give me a headache?

No the 06 has 300 hp and 260lbs of torque vs. my (03+) 287 hp and 274lbs of torque Do a search there are a lot of arguments for both configurations.

if you keep this kind of mindset, you will always be dissatisfied. a few years later the 06 will be out of date and the people who bought it with that mindset will become angry and jealous. point is, be happy with what you have. im most cases, you're probably stuck with it anyway. have some fun with it. modify it. just dont start a new thread for the sole purpose of complaining

I used to think the same thing about the 300hp motors. I'm not so sure now, apparently they have a bit stronger internals stock, and TS is going to release a reflash that allows for an even higher rev limiter.

Oh, how I wish some beefier connecting rods and lower compression pistons were a dealer option.

The only thing I'm jealous of the 06's are the MP3 ready radio/cd player 'n the cool new rims. Just minor stuff that I can change on my baby =D.....of course I could've waited 2 more months for the '06, but I picked up the last '05 touring 6-speed they had on the lot. I'm still in love with the car.
