There may be only a few european sports cars that actually can be optioned to include racing stripes as oe in recent times. Contrast that to American sports cars where most of them have a factory racing stripe option. Vipers, last gen cameros, last gen vettes, mustangs, and Dodge Ram trucks all have/had a racing stripe options. Not to mention all the old muscle cars from the late 60's early 70's.

So I can see why some would say we "took over" the racing stripe thing from the Euro's a long time ago.

As to Asian sports cars with racing stripes...besides maybe the miata...have any asian cars ever had a traditional racing stripe option from the factory? Any BIG TIME asian factory race teams ever use the stripes on a race car?

IMO Asian cars just don't have the racing hertitage with the stripes to justify it being on the car.

But hey...it's your car and your free to do what ever you want to it.

Most of the people here seem to like the stripes, and I agree, I think they look decent on the Z. DB with white stripes may be the only Z that could pull it off. The windshield banner and writing on the doors, completely ruin the whole image though.

Maybe his is like that dude from Momento,

the Stripes draw his attention and his name lets him know that its his car?

He is then happy to know that he will forget its his after 15 minutes..

Man, this thread is weird. It's amazing how the topic wanders from I like it/don't like it to "you're why people hate Americans". Isn't it possible to just look at the car and judge it based on appearance rather than the appropriateness of the stripes based on country of origin, heritage of the design, similarity to other cars, etc? Sheesh....so much pent up anger in you people.

And for the person that said "So, '95/'96", no the Viper GTS was offered in this color scheme only in '96/'97, but that's completely beside the point.

This v10 viper with his 450HP didn't help him out too much with the Civic Si. Maybe if the Viper had racing stripes on, it could have helped him out. O.o

No doubt a well done turbo'd si is a fast car...but I'm sorry...that Viper needs a decent driver. That guy was too busy smokin his cig. Vid even says the guy missed 4th gear and let up in another part. I'm no viper fan...after all I do drive a Z and before that a Honda Prelude so I'm all for the big hp low displacment cars kicking the sh** out of big motor big hp cars...like the viper.

But the above comment saying the z "looks like a viper" is exactly why one shouldn't put big ole' set of racing stripes on a z. Cause 9 times out of 10 when you pull into a gas station or someone see's it for the first time...the first thing they'll say is...hey that kinda looks like(insert american car name). How is that doing the Z's heritage any good?

To be honest...don't really like that style stripes on any car, foreign or domestic.

But that's just my opinion which everyone is entitled.

You bought the car...do whatever you want to it.

I still like stripes. It depends on how tasteful they are. I'm thinking of repainting this car basically the same color as it is now (Silverstone) but with silver stripes fogged over with the Silverstone.

Can anyone photoshop some silver stripes on this. Or, some fogged silver stripes?
I tried with paint it doesn't work out at all.

I say this; With these white stripes they see you coming for about 5 miles.

Ok I missed that in that case there is no hope it's awful. Why are people trying to ruin our car? I was hoping that the new Z would make it to at least 2008 before the ricers got their hands on it.

That guy is a local chicago guy. I am not too into his stripes. But the blue g35 driver is a hot female! This guy Randy on our forum had this to say about your name on the side of your car:

I thought having your last name on the car was a great idea, so I figured I'd give it a try to see how it looks... I think it turned out better on his car (just playing... =P lol)

Looks like Rayden2001 (Jason's) Z there. When is he adding his name? BTW, those wheels really make the car look bad, as well as the name and windsheild sticker. Where did you guys have the meet? I am from the Chicago area, plan to come up soon.

Yup thats Raydens car behind it. That was at Chilis in Rosemont. We have a meet this weekend at Busse Woods. You should join over at chicagoz.com and check it out. We have a meet usually once a month. Locations change so check there before you come out!

Used to live in Addison, Schamburg, etc. Drank and smoked at Busse woods many a time. Going to Cinci this weekend, I will visit your website. How is Raydens Z runing with the PE kit?
