When was putting racing stripes and putting your last name on a car a "ricer" thing to do... According to some people here, the racing stripes "belongs" to the americans now, so I guess he is trying to "potato" up his car?

Maybe he is not a ricer but more of a potato'er?

I'm the one that put that 350Z picture online ... the guy that owns the car isn't much into computers and i don't think he has ever joined any forums so he wouldn't have a chance to explain why he did what he did.

So the story behind the stripes and the name is the following:

The guy that owns the 350Z lives in Palatine IL and he just turned 21 (so he is quite young). He has a friend who has big dreams of like becoming a famous singer or something so he pit his name on the side of his VW Golf VR6. And here is that:


So the 350Z guy wanted to get some stripes on the car (which i don't think look that good either) and was taken to the same place the Golf was "remodeled" at anyway ... i guess the Vanko guy was like "wow ur name would look so cool on the car" and as much as the 350Z guy cant make up his mind on what clothes to wear today he decided to go along with it.

and yes it is a sad view and yes people make fun of him all the time ... and i have asked him million times "WHY WHY WHY" and he said "couz it looks cool"

lesson to be learned: dont expect a reasonable answer from a 21 year old

first glance it loooked pretty decent ..untill i noticed the side decal! what the f#$#$# !!!! thats deff an embarasment to the car!!! i hate idiots like that!!!!

 

Hi Milena!! I also see another blue Z runnin around here with silver stripes. They look a lot better than the white ones. They are a little wider and a little further spaced apart. It actually kinda looks really nice.

 

Good point on that 21 year old stuff. I put Old Style beer labels, one on either side rear passenger window when I was 21. Guess I wanted the cops to know I was drinking. I assume I thought I was cool.

 

Alright so its potato. Sorry I dont know the terminology for people that make nice cars look like crap with their odd customizations. It doesn't negate the fact that is looks aweful and when I implied ricing out a Z i was talking about what will inevitable happen to our car in the near future when 03's become more affordable to the youth.By that I mean overkill on neons, eight different colors, and graphics implying they are either roman soldiers or enzo killers. Either way its a shame that this happens. And if stripes are really a "american" marque then leave them at that.with the exception of a beefed up Viper ive persoanlly never liked them but they don't in any way flow with any JDM car.
