Default wrong way wiper UPDATE *pics*

EDIT: to view pics go to post #12 where Yobri has kindly added the correct links.

For those of you just joining our program, my rear wiper was installed wrong, resulting in the wiper taking the paint off my newly painted spoiler. See first pic. You can see in the upper right where the paint has been scrapped off.

http://uploader.ws/upload/200510/350Zpaint.jpg

I took my car to my local dealership to show them the problem with the wiper.
I drove right up to the service bay where the service manager took one look at it, called over her supervisor who promptly said "get this man's wiper fixed now and make an appointment for him to have his spoiler repainted". I was flabbergasted! I expected an argument. Instead I got great service. This will be taken care of under warranty. I'll be taking my car in next week for painting and new tires and an alignment. Props to Southern States Nissan for exceptional service.

Following is a pic of where the wiper is suppose to be.

http://uploader.ws/upload/200510/350Zpaint2.jpg

When I bought the car, the wiper was horizontal, across the bottom of the window as you can see in this pic.

Here is the original story of how this happened.

I just bought the car a couple of weeks ago. It had some minor stone chips and acorn dents in the hood, along with the missing paint on the spoiler. I assumed that the previous owner had scraped it up somehow. I took the car in to a shop to have it repainted and the dings taken out. I picked up the car from the paint shop and drove in the rain to my office. This was the first time I'd had the car in the rain. When I turned on the rear window wiper, I noticed right away that it was wiping in the wrong direction. I get to work and notice that all the brand new paint on the spoiler was gone. I put two and two together and figured out what had happened.

Maybe a mod could enable the site to use Uploader.WS by following the instructions below.

If you would like a site to be added to our hot-link allow list, please e-mail me with [Uploader.WS] in the subject line at shaine@gmail.com.

EDIT: something weird is going on, now I can't see my third pic. I've become an "unauthorized viewer" ??????

Evidently my car isn't the first one with this problem. A guy on my other thread reported that his brand new 05' came from the dealer with the wiper installed incorrectly.

perhaps all new Z's come from the factory with the wiper removed to prevent damage?? if so, some dealership probably installed it wrong from the beginning... (just a theory)

sounds like a good theory to me...And for the other guy...all it takes is one swipe to scratch that much paint off. Same thing happened to me, except my scratch was quite a bit longer.
