Question Lsd

I have the base model and know that it dosnt have a lsd, does that mean that power is allways put to just 1 wheel? It is always the left or right? I put my rims back on and my back right tire has less than half the amount of the other. What do you guys think

Unless you have some way to direct the torque, tourque will want to take the path of least resistance. In an open differential that usually means the drive wheel with the least amount of traction. IE you are stuck in the sand, one wheel has traction and the other is slipping, more of your torque will head toward the wheel that is slipping because it has the least amount of resistance. On the road, it you have lots of turns an open differential works better than a locked differential that is why most differential are limited slip. The differential will let the torque be out of balance up to a certain point or speed. The most common types of LSD are the speed sensing type (usually a Viscous LSD like in the Z), torque locking (most Clutch LSDs) and torque balancing (TORSEN type). Each has it's pros/cons. In some of the newer cars advanced automatic transmissions and stability controls have been added to aid the LSD or replace it. The performance, touring, track and 35th 6MT Zs have both the VLSD and VDC to control traction. The new 5ATs use the VLSD, VDC and the transmission to control traction. All Zs that have VDC/TCS also have the Brake LSD.
