Default To much for a ZEE

I am negotiating the purchase of a Ultr Yellow '05 Enthusiast Model. The dealer is offering the car for $30K tax, title etc. Is that a good deal?? I'm getting anxious and want to make sure I don't get ripped off. Your response is appreciated!!

It ain't a good race unless they see your taillights!!

i wish i could have gotten an Enthusiast for that price but i got a Touring instead and it cost me about 38 i think 30 is good seeing as how they wanted 34 for the Enthusiast that i was going to buy.

30k imo is too much for an 05 enthu. Im looking into getting an 06 enthu for that much, let them know your doing them a favor by taking an 05 and making room on their lot, lol. Or you can wait a month or two for the 06.

If it's an '05 Enthu, I would say you can knock them down to $27,500. Maybe even $27k's. Just tell them "Hey look, I'm doing you a favor 'n taking this '05 off your hands." $30k for a technically "old" car is a bit pricey. I got my
05 touring for $27,500. Hassle them, don't let them hassle you. Also, an early congrats once you get your Z.

Yes, and if you wait a month they may still have the 05 and be very anxious for your price! I did that when I bought my 1990 300 ZX in March 1990- they had a metallic yellow sitting on the the front of their lot. I waited a month and it was till there - went in and picked up a $31,000 car for $25,500 - automatic, 2+2, T-Tops, bose , leather , 5 speed overdrive ! Patience sometimes pays great dividends.

$30 K out the door ain't bad. You might find a little better deal but you sould not feel bad about taking the deal.

With the crowd here you have to remember if you said the dealer was giving you the car a few guys would say hold out for the dealer to pay for your insurance! LOL!

I'm in Central Illinois and they have a blue Touring marked down to 30,080k, msrp was 33,400k. So maybe you could get yours for around 28k.

Did you get it for $27,500 out the door??

I have about 28 to spend total after tax, etc and really want a Touring strictly for the leather, but figured I wouldn't even have a chance of getting it for that...

Yes that is a good deal... the reason they seel them so much is because the price is getting lower and lower. They need to raise prices

I got taken to the cleaners. This was my first brand new car and I didn't have my dad with me to haggle with them. Not even going to mention what I paid for my Touring. lol* I'll do much better the next time.

check kbb.com. that'll give you a baseline to start negotiating. a good target is 500 - 1k over invoice. never negotiate off of MSRP.
