. . . I say Z, the Z still has the weight advantage. But, then again Im biased, in reality, I think it'll come down to the driver, but then again thats just my .02

of course its a valid question. now your comparison would just be mudane because the answer should be obvious that the 06 Z is faster than the G cuz of the weight.

 

The 03 Z has consistently tested faster than the 300hp Z though very close. All things being equal the Z would win. With the G35 they also increased hp and lowered torque.

B/c its lighter and the numbers indicate that an 03 is faster or equal to an 06, which means that it'll beat an 06 G which is slower than an 06 Z.

 

It would come down to driver off a line cuz hp are close. Off a roll, then thats where you will be able to tell which one is faster. Now between and 06 300hp and 03 Z. I'll would go with the 03. 03 Z have been tested to be faster.

can someone show me the thread that states that the 03 motor is "faster" than the 06's? i've been reading up on threads such as: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....t=faster+motor and I haven't found a thing that says the 03 motor is faster.

 

Do the math. The 287 has more torque, and weighs a little less. Therefore, by that degree, you can assume that with the same driver, the 03 will win. Unless its a high rpm race,where the revup motor will beat it (usually). But off the line, same driver, 03. 9/10 times. Same against the 06 G, which is slower b/c it weighs more.

 

my friend has a 298hp g35c and i have a 03 z, both are 6 speed. I'm faster, we have done runs from 50-140 mph. Never from a stop though. Also we wanted to see if my torque will show so at 60mph we both put it in 6th and floored it and i pulled on him. He has a injen intake and i have no engine mods.......yet. Vortec this spring:-)

G35 drivers win because the car has a backseat.

350Z drivers win because there's no backseat for a bunch of screaming kids.

 

Some 350Z drivers are faster than G35 drivers. Some G35 drivers are faster than 350Z drivers.
