quick question s2k vs. 350z
depends on the road course...how open, how many straights, cut ins...the s2k does handle better but its not like we are comparing challenger to a miata here. The s2k and the Z are both track stars...edge out seems more accurate than run circles
Exactly, Streets of Willow the S2k will win, but over on Willow (the big track) the Z will win. This is with pro drivers, at a lower level, it's all up to the driver.
Well just goes to show you how important weight is for a sports car, the S2K only has like 153tq and can still beat a Z, and I think they are very attrative cars, especially with the hard tops on them.

I will try not to mess with them in my stock DE, I might get embarassed lol, I didnt think they were that quick.

Ever driven one? Yea theyre head to head with the 350z and has a slight handling advantage, but driving them is just b plain boring. The z pulls hard and its a blast to drive. While the s2000 is completely a crappy civic until that vtec kicks kn which I think is around 4k? The s2k is the big bro of the miata. Nothing more nothing less. Fun for twisty but as a drivers car, I prefer the z over the s2k. I tried talking my gf into buying one. She wants nothing to do with them. She sees them as a prissy girly car haha.
These threads sucked back in the days and they still suck today. This isn't the first s2k vs z thread, the only difference is the OP isn't getting flamed like members used to when they popped up.
Why are people so against the S2000? Its almost the same car as the 350z.
Both are RWD sports cars, both are japanese, both are fun to drive, both are good looking, both have lots of aftermarket support.
This video shows how equal they are.

Don't post a bench racing thread on a 350z forum and expect people to not backup the 350z
The S2k is a great car and is a beast on the track in the right persons hands, it all depends on the variables such as driver, mods, and what type of track

It's a shame how overweight the s2000 is. Definitely not trying to say doesn't need to go on a diet because it could definitely shed a few pounds as well. But, the s2000 being such a tiny car with a 4 cylinder engine weighs in nearing 2,900lbs not sure if its just me but that's atrocious.
And you can always turbo one and get 700hp or twin turbo the Z and get 700hp and still lose due to power to weight ratio.

It has no torque, yet it stays neck and neck with a Z, they have almost identical 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times. Torque doesn't really matter in the S2K because its alot lighter than the Z.

I could always turbo X car and make X power that will beat anything. Still have no idea why people compare heavily modified cars it means nothing.
That's gross weight man lol. Curb weight is around 3250-3300. My HR weighs 3100 by just replacing exhaust pieces, clutch, etc.
