Default C'Mon Spring!

We got about 14 inches here in western NY! My Z came in Monday and I picked it up Tuesday morning in a rare moment of clear skies. I drove the 2 miles from the dealer right to my garage and there the Z sits all shiny and dry with only 10 miles on the clock.

gonna be a looooooooong winter!

I still can't believe it's in the garage!

To all you in the snowbelts....spring is gonna be a blast!

that can not be good for the suspension or tires can it? Id imagine that snow weighs more than the cars rated weight limit.

good that you have a car cover atleast, but since its protected, Id do my best to brush some off to reduce the load.

Are you serious? Snow is heavy but it really can only weight, what, about 300-350 lbs? If you have a full tank of gas and two people (200 pounders) in the car, that has to weight more than that snow! I seriously doubt that it will hurt the suspension.

Monday in Oklahoma City the idiot weathermen were predicting snow for the afternoon. I decided to drive the Z, was only working a half day anyhow and I would be leaving by 10:30am. By 9am it was snowing. When I left at 10:30 there was 2-3 inches of snow on the car, I cleared the windows and started to drive home. The roads were slushy but not really slick, the Z did great. About halfway home some idiot (probably one of the weathermen mentioned above) comes flying by in a Cherokee with monster tires and throws about 1000 gallons of slush onto the car. I couldn't even see for about 20 seconds. When I got home I put her in the garage, went back out a couple hours later, the snow and slush had melted off but my hood was covered with little pieces of gravel from sand to BB size. Had to wait until the next day and backed her out and GENTLY rinsed the gravel off then washed and back in the garage. Didn't spot any paint damage but was really worried until she was cleaned off. She hasn't left the garage since. Driving the Wife's car until everything has melted and evaporated.

well if memory serves the load limit for the Z is like 450lbs for passengers and cargo. and believe you me, ive put more than the acceptable weight and it loaded down on the suspension pretty good.

Ares: Where did you see the allowable load for the Z? Just curious.

Also, how big a boy are you anyway? What were you hauling that exceeded 450 lbs?

I had me(160) roomate(140) 2 girls(140 and 150), that brings us up to almost 600lbs. yes thats right, 4 people in the Z, 2 in passenger seat, one in the trunk.

as for load, its on the sticker under the console I think is where I saw it. Id have to look, may have been in the user manual, or somewhere else.

I'm in CT too with a Z. It is in the GARAGE, hybernating for the winter. I only sneak it out when the weather allows. I never thought that I would "baby" a car, but the Z has changed all of that.

See you in the spring. lol

Think it's time for at least a car cover if not a garage.

God, I hope it's a short winter...
