Ahhh its not the paint... I can clearly tell that you take your car to touch car washes... drive in rough conditions, AND DONT TAKE CARE OF YOUR CAR. I have had my Z since april of 04 and still looks better than a showroom finish.

Is it only on your front bumper?

I'm guessing here, but it might be small pebbles, gravel or some big a$$ bugs hitting it. considering it's only on your front bumper and your mirrors.

Rock chips suck. It looks like it needs a hardcore wax to, maybe ethat will get out some of those swirls.

Edited Post: Double clicky thing. That's what I get for working from my car on the laptop.

Car covers help keep the sun out.

Kinda cool but a little slower on the uptake.

I have had mine since Nov '03:

Very few chips. But to be fair during the workweek commute this is how you'll see me:

Plate and Bra installed. I hate CHP's (Chips) Pun intended.

So you remove and reinstall your front plate on a regular basis too?

You've gotta take better care of that paint, my man. Yeah, I know it is thin. Only fix now would be to get the bumper repainted and install a 3M clear bra on it.

Here's an example of so called “thin paint:” the result of road debris. I primed the area with anti-rust primer, then 3 coats of touch-up paint to build-up the surface, and followed by clear coat. I don't know how the 350Z paint compares to other cars, but it seems pretty thick to me.

Yup, I looked like an idiot at the last car meet. There was only one other guy with a plate on the front. We represented about 2% of the cars there.
