Question Info about the 06 cloth ?

All of these threads about the new 06 models and the ones about cloth vs leather have me wondering something...whats the cloth in the 06 models like? I have read that they changed the material. I havent been able to see one at my dealer yet, so I'm wondering what you guys that already have yours thing about it. Anyone have any pics of it, or any comparisons between it and the cloth used in previous years?

it is different.. the seat material is more comfortable... the material slides over clothes better so they dont get as snagged and shredded...

its a more tighter weave...

When I sat in the '06 base model, the cloth was kind of rough. It comfortable to sit in as long as you are wearing pants

it is nissan's ******* policy to produce a good looking sports car and not to include leather seats from factory. I am sorry to use a rough language but it is really annoying to me. Even in honda accords or similar sports cars leather seat comes from factory and from nissan it is not for 350z which is their top notch car , i believe. I know you can get a aftermarket seat for $900 1000 but why bother with all the process , some people will jump and say then get the touring model but i believe at least they have to have an option to upgrade leather seats for base and enth models from factory isn't it true folks

I dont see what your trying to say. If you want leather, its available. Sure, its going to cost more than the base package. I dont think that Nissan is asking for too much money on the touring package. I think its a good deal for what you are getting. Not sure what the point of your post was.

I'm with camaro194. What the hell are you trying to point out? I believe that leather is not stock on Accords (why you would use this as a comparison I don't know). If you want a luxury cruiser, get the G35C or a touring model. I'm lost as to what your point is.

Leather is not a factory option because this would complicate the build / order process and increase costs to the consumer. You can get factory (OEM) leather installed by the dealer.

what i am trying to say is , even base 350z has to come with leather seats from factory or they have to have an option to upgrade the cloth seats to leather for base and ent models.

I used the accord as a comparison because i try to point out that even accord, celica or rsx comes with leather and those cars aren't classy than 350z. They come with leather from factory so i hope it is clear right now.

dude, the z does come from the factory with leather. either you need to put down the pipe, or start reading and comprehending. Follow along with me: THE Z DOES COME WITH LEATHER. The base Z is provided for those who do not want to spend the extra money for leather, and still get an amazing car.

Exactly, the leather is what they called a dealer installed option, not factory installed. Like the track wheels. You can get a base with track wheels and leather if you want. You'll pay through the nose, but you can get it.

For me, Leather was NOT an option. Black on black leather Would make those summer days unbearable in the Z. Not that I didnt want leather, its just that there isnt alot of room for the air to circulate in the cabin which has been in the heat for 8+ hours. Just my opinion. If my work had a parking garage then I wouldnt have too much of a problem. How much is it to get leather seats from the dealer?

I think what he was trying to point out (though I could be wrong because I'm just going based on what he posted rather than any research I've done), is that with the Z if you want to upgrade to leather, you have to upgrade to an entirely different trim for 3-4k and get all this other stuff along with it that you may or may not even want, while with the accord, etc you can get a base accord and have an option to add leather for X amount without having to buy a totally different trim and pay for a handful of stuff you may not want.

World record for run-on sentence anyone?

For me, leather or cloth in a car doesn't really matter- it's not like I drive the car in the nude where your *** can actually feel the difference. Sure leather makes the car look more expensive and luxurious but for a sports car like Z, cloth will suffice just fine. The only gripe I have about cloth is when the rain get on the seats, it'll smell funny for a couple of days

Clean your seats and use scotchguard at least every year. That should help a lot. I did this after the first year. Smells great every time I get in the car and rain doesn't effect it at all.

Makes no sense. Even with Accord base model you can't get leather. You can only get leather if you get the LX or EX model. So you would still have to buy a totally different trim to get leather.

I love the cloth in my 06 Enthusiast, it's extremely sturdy fabric....
(I've never seen such a sturdy fabric as that in my Z and I couldn't be happier) The seats are so nicely sculpted too
I'll snap some pics this weekend for you guys....
