Yes, but I'm *not* heavy. Those 22 lbs. over the Track are neglible if there's a strapping 230 lb. fella in the Track.

3247 Touring + 155 = 3402
3225 Track + 230 = 3455

You see were I'm going?

That's a given. I wonder who'll be the first to come back with a report of a roasted clutch. I hope it's not me.

You guys are crazy.

With these small differneces in weight, it will diffinitly come to driver ability....

I would bet the better driver would always win no matter what model...
But the better driver is always at an advantage when he's not toting around 100lbs worth of navigation systems and airbags.

Oh, and just another note (for those who would like to have this conversation).

One is not a better driver for showing the ability to simply go faster on a highway than someone else. That's just one person having less regard for the potential of cops with radar.

One is not a better driver for showing the ability to dodge and weave in traffic in an unsafe manner. That's just an exhibition of stupidity.

I refuse to be baited into a game of "watch how stupid I am for cutting in front of this dump truck just so I can get in front of you".

Yet another reason why your average street racer wouldn't stand a chance on a real timed event.

Thus ends my rant...

It's funny how you talk about street racers not standing a change on a real racetrack because it's so true. Letting the ricers in is a necessary evil to get enough people to pay to rent a racetrack. What a coincidence that all the ricers are usually in the same rungroup! It's also a coincidence that that is where the majority of accidents take place. Now some of the ricers do get into the faster rungroups simply because there is so many of them. They drive over their limits, don't use mirrors, never give you a wave by, and they get pissed when you pass them. Then on the way home from the event as you are cruising along with the traffic, some ricer or a pack of them, comes flying by you doing 20-30mph more than the traffic all while weaving in and out very close to other cars. They don't ever learn.

Don't you ever wonder how all these fools manage to lose control of 16-17 second 1/4 mile cars??

Raceboy:

You and I think the same way. The spirit of the Z is not about dodging cement trucks on a four-lane highway just to beat a guy in a Mustang GT.

I just hope there's enough people out there that think the same way. It would break my heart to see a 350Z end up featured on www.wreckedexotics.com, but it's certainly bound to happen.

(Especially knowing the intelligence of your average New Jersey driver. And yes, I can make that joke since I hail from the Great State of NJ myself.)

Smile weight + WEIGHT

droidekaus-- I'm with you.

Silverstone Touring 6 speed with Burnt Orange, mats, plates bags.

3247 Touring + 130 = 3377 (less antenna)
3247 " + 155 = 3402
3225 Track + 230 = 3455

Actually, I don't. I'm driving one until the Z arrives. What I do wonder is why they think a Civic is SO fast. My Civic sedan pains me to no end with it's non-existent torque and sluggish response. What's the first thing they taught you when you started racing Karts? To drive fast you've got to *drive* slow?

These idiots think that jerking the wheel back and forth like a movie star makes for smooth transitions. IIRC, a kid lost his life a year or two back on clubsi.com because he downshifted in the middle of a high-speed, decreasing radius turn and REALLY upset his little Civic Si. Of course this wasn't on a track and in a residential area instead.

Default Now that it's official, question on redline

Why is it that the VQ35DE in my pathfinder has a 6700 redline and the Z has a 6600 redline. Shouldn't the sports car be able to rev higher than the tuned for low end torque truck application? I had been expecting 7000 or close and was hoping all this 6500-6600 hearsay was wrong. But now that it's officially 6600, my question is, what's up with that? Performance tuned version capable of less revs than truck tuned version. Seems kinda messed up to me.

Can any of you guys figure the 0-60 and 1/4 mile time using one of those programs some of you have used before? Maybe the #'s are better that C&D said.

Someone has on another thread. I believe it was "skidazzle". The numbers were almost exactly the same. I'll go try to find the thread for you.

Are you serious?????? There is a big difference between some moron showing his "SACK" versus a ralley driver and the crowd. First of all the crowd at a ralley event knows the risk. If they are dumb enough to sit on the outside of a turn then the gene pool will just get a bit cleaner. The guy in the dumptruck that you just cut off however did not ask you to cut him off. The kids riding on their bikes on the sidewalk that you just ran into as you "powerslid" right up onto the curb didn't ask for that either!! Lastly, drivers of WRC cars have years of experience under their belts. It only looks like ragged edge driving to the unexperienced. In fact it is well choreographed unlike the average Joe Ricer Racer wannabes that die everyday. Truthfully, I wouldn't even care about their deaths if it wasn't for the innocents that get taken out with them. Gettinonit has a lot to learn. It's always the guys that talk exactly like this at the pre track drivers meetings that hit the walls hard!! They are always talkin in the meeting about how they are gonna be passing, better get out of their way, yada yada yada. The other guys are just laughin at them and making a pool on which one of them is gonna need a towtruck first and call home crying to his mommy.

this might sound dumb..but what are the chances of the HP # changing comes July 3rd? or, is this it? is it the REAL thing?

i dont get the July 3rd embargo if everyone knows the official stats by now! weird!

and as far as 1/4 mile and 0-60 times, do we have to wait for another mag test? or does that info come on July 3rd?

Jmanz..can you clear this up for me? i am kind of confused on this whole deal.

thanx
