That's awesome. I can't wait to get home and check my mail! I'm excited! I hope the next mag articles have a little better numbers, but I'm damn happy either way. Go Z!

Hmmm....let's see how long this thread is allowed to stay up

I just know I don't want to ask this, but, how much [cringing] did the track model weigh?

Who can quickly summarize the differences between the base and the track?

Imagine the turn around of emotion that is going to happen once these numbers are more universally known.

It does make one laugh given the recent shenanigans..hahahaha!

Actually, you would want to know the differences between Track and Enthusiast, since the enthusiast has a most of the track stuff.
Track = Enthusiast 3197 plus (my guess on weights)
VDC 10lbs
Tire PSI Monitor 2lbs
Rays -18lbs (from C&D)
Brembos 15lbs
Heavier Tires 5lbs
Aero Package 10lbs

That makes my uneducated guess 3221, but hopefully someone will post the actual number soon enough!

I just received my surprise information packet on the Z. Contrary to the C & D article, the curb weight for the base is 3,188 and enthusiast is 3,197. The weights of the performance, touring and track models are all under the 3,300 weight that C & D reported. HP: 287 Torque: 274 lb. ft. A cool pictorial CD-ROM is included showing many different angles of the Z.

Andrew:

It's too bad I'm stuck at work. I'd like to get home and check my mail.

Just a quick spreadsheet showing the models and their weights would be appreciated. I have a bet to collect on...

By the time I'm done with Atkins my skinny A**, in my heavy car will still way less then you in your light car.
Atkins all you want. If need be, I'll put on those $5000 cross-drilled ceramic hyper-light rotors I saw in JC Whitney.

I don't have all that much weight left to lose, now that I'm pounding out 20 miles a day on the bike...

See you at the finish line...

I'm not trying to flame here, but I will feel a little better when this gets confirmed by a second person who has received the package. Guess I'm just gun-shy after last month's fiasco where someone put up a vette dynograph and tried to pass it off as a Z.
