Default Some salesman antics....

So I went on edmunds to price out an 06 enthu and had them email a couple of close by dealers near by so they could send me a couple of prices.
This is what I got:

Edmunds:
Invoice:$27564
MSRP:$29755
What others pay:$28543

Dealer one calls me and says that they can get me into one for 32k (I laughed), Dealer 2 calls me and says 28500 (I think ok this is more like it),
Dealer 3 calls and says 28000 and come in and well give you even a better deal than that.(I think wow this is only about 500 over invoice, how can they give me a better deal than that???) So in disbelief I email 2&3 and tell them to email me something in writting that I can bring in when I come in and 2 acts like I never even spoke to him and 3 refuses to call me/ email me back.

Dealers will practically tell you theyll give you the car for free just to get you to come in and then hit you upside the head.

Do any of you guys know of a good website where I can read up on how dealers price out cars??? I know they have things like holdback(i think that what its called). Cause I am shameless and will go in there and offer them 5 bucks and haggle from there

Why not just print out the email that was originally sent to you quoting you 28.5k or 28k? Just make sure that you talk to the internet sales guy (his name should be at the bottom of the first email you got -- ask for him specifically) when you go in.

Just tell them that Ken at Performance Nissan gave me mine for 27775.....
I paid 30,200 out the door....

Also, Luis at Metro Nissan in Redlands was gonna give me 30,264 out the door, so there's another ...

I chose Performance because Jason and Andy help everyone on this board and go above and beyond the call, plus...They're ranked 8th in the nation and they treated me like a King when I was there..."Family owned and operated"....Peter in finance is also a great guy and goes over everything in detail, about your warranty.....
I feel I got a great deal, so just throw those quotes at em...I'm sure Ken would give you invoice, quite readily

I used edmunds.com when I got mine and it worked out perfect. A few didn't even call me, but 3 did email me. One guy stood out from them all and gave me a no BS price via email in writing and was the same price when I arrived to pick it up on my day off. Of course the finance guy kept trying to push crap on me, but I told him that I was ready to walk if he didn't shut it.

yeah it's unfortunate how far dealers will go these days. a few months back
getting rid of our X5 the dealer told us to come in and he would dazzle us w/
some awesome numbers. even let us walk away from our lease without paying
excess miles, etc. needless to say when we get there they turn into complete
a$$es and start talking some really dumb... errr... poop. for some reason they
thought were just so excited to get into another bmw even though we just got
rid of two. they figured we would be so excited we would ignore the fact that
they were not letting us walk away from our lease excess fees free, but simply
wrapping them up as negative equity on the new loan for our next car.

the worst part was that they actually thought we would fall for it. my wife and
i just said hmmm... we'll sleep on it. 3-4 days later I walked into sterling nissan
and bought a Z. never looked back.. or returned the bmw dealer's calls.

well they called me after the email, hence I have nothing written.

Axewielder, do you think you could get me that guys email address, it would be great if he could email me a quote that I could take to this dealer, they promised they would match any quote. And if worse came to worse I dont think id mind getting it shipped.

Thanks in advance

Its been 3 months since you registered. Forget quotes. Forget email. Forget invoice. Why not find the car that you want, and make an offer?
