What attracted you the most to the Z?
What's the first/most important thing that attracted you to the Z? Was it the stunning looks, impressive performance, it's reasonable price, or something totally different?
For me, first and foremost is the look of the car. After reading the Mini Cooper and Subaru WRX threads, I've come to the conclusion that no matter what type of performance a car has, the *look* is what's most important to me (although the Z is definitely no slouch when it comes to performance).
So, what is/was it about the Z that has turned your head the most?

Probably the look, and that it was a Z. I always wanted a Z32, still think they're pretty cars.
Once the pricing came out, I pretty much pooped my pants. I couldn't believe that the car would cost about $30k. That was well before any performance numbers came out, although I was pretty sure it would be similar to the Z32.
I finally had to decide between an Acura CL-S (nice car by the way) or the Z, and the choice wasn't that hard to make.

the look, I wanted the Z when it was a 200hp I4. then it was a 260+hp, then 280+. power didnt matter, all I knew was handling would be good, and it looked sweet.
and of course it was a Z. its like your a part of something, a heritage that supra and rx8 cant touch, and mustang no longer represents.

Always wanted a Z32 but was in college at the time and in no way could afford the 40K+ price tag it topped out at. So now it's more affordable with similar performace. Only other car I considered was the G35C, and since I always wanted a Z, the choice was easy. Styling is a big bonus to me, but my main objective has always been to own a Z!

it's pretty, it's fast, it's not girly (like the z3), it's better looking than the s2000 (IMO), and it's priced competitively.
so, i guess it's all of the above.
but it would be dumb to buy a car for strictly one of the reasons; it's always gotta be a combination that hits the sweet spot.

I've owned 2 Z cars already..... working on getting my 3rd. =) It's a great car with good looks(subjective), nice power, handling, and decent gas mileage. Not to mention it should be very reliable and relatively cheap to fix compared to some other sports cars.
The last two Zs were both the black sheep Zcars. An '85 300ZX 2+2 and a '90 300ZX TT. Great cars, but the Z32 was a little problem prone(maybe it was just mine).

That's the nicest thing about the 350Z, it's the whole package that attracted me.
Beautiful design, nice power/handling, very nice price.
At the moment I really can't afford one, so I have myself convinced that I'll get a second hand VR4 now, get a 350Z in a year or so. Every time I am convinced on getting a VR4, I see a 350Z in the flesh and change my mind instantly back to the Z

Alot of things attracted me to the 350, but ultimately it all boiled down to value (what everybody has eluded to). For the price you pay, you get good performance and many features/amenities.

THE entire package, along w/ the price, this was my first "new" car purchase, I was waiting to buy a new car, and once the Z came out I had to have one. I told myself I would never buy a new car, but I made large exception, which thus far I don't regret. The cars I have purchased in the past have had at least 40k miles on them. I couldn't wait for a 40k mile Z.

I presonally liked the "bang for the buck" factor. With the base model you get 287 horsepower for $27K. Thats unheard of. The looks, heritage, etc. were all just bonuses initally for me.

Well...
This will sound like a commercial, but I remember being 6 or 7 and seeing by first one. Don't ask me how, but I knew what it was instantly; a 240Z. Then my father (as any good parent does) busted my bubble and told me that he would never own one because it was not practical.
Well in October 2002, the practicality-be-damned thing was sitting in my garage. Oddly enough, my father (who was visiting me at the time) was more excited that I was. In short, I have ALWAYS wanted one...and for all the previously mentioned reasons: looks, performance, value, heritage.

My '88 had 260k miles on it and I wasn't goint to buy anything else because of reliability alone. The first pic I saw of the prototype didn't impress me but they changed the grill a bit and the looks grew on me. I guess it's better to buy a car with futuristic styling as five years from now it will still look "fresh"
Nissan did a great job on this car - I love the total package of looks/performance/reliability. My expectations were far exceeded.

it's because it's a sports car. not a roadster, not a mini, not a grand tourer. two doors, real roof, and no back seats and the performance to back it up. i can't wait for the 04's to start coming

I haved owned 3 z's 1976 280Z, 1990 300ZX and 2003 350Z. The reasons I like the Z are there styling, performance for the price and reliability. They have always been in a class of there own.
