I have an 03 touring w/ 27k and I haven't suffered tranny problems at all. I've heard the rumors of peeps going through transmissions and I also know alot of other Z's same year as mines that hasn't had tranny problems either. Go figure! Tire feathering is uneven tire wear and that is due to the fact of the chambering of the rear wheels. I believe nissan fix that problem with either the 05 or 06 models. You can buy a chamber kit for your Z to fix the problem. I don't have a chamber kit and my tire wear is better even. I don't go out and do donuts like a maniac or do burn outs. I would assume that could of be some of the reasons the wear on the tires could of be faster than usual.
