Default Some dealers crack me up!!!

This is coming from a salesguy trying to sell me a 2006 Enthusiast I was inquiring about.

"Considering the fact that the 'Z' has been compared to a Porsche Boxster (at half the price), and the fact that Nissan only makes 28,000 coupes per year for worldwide consumption (only 4,000 roadsters), keeping the value up, there is simply no good reason for us to discount these vehicles more than we do."

LOL - I would have laughed at the guy, then informed him that I was off to buy my Z somewhere else.

No, not ebay...if you work the dealers hard enough, you should be able to get the discount you want. If they feel that they will lose your business, they should bargain more.

I just hate car salesmen.

And I'm not even looking for a discount. I'm fine with paying $500 over invoice but these freaking dealers want $1000 plus more over invoice. I had to tell some other guy today to stick it.

$500 over invoice is fair, you should be able to find a dealer that will sell one to you for that price.

mm na uh.. i got my '06 touring roadster $350 under invoice. for 39,200 otd.
you'd be insane to pay 43 sticker for a '05.

do a request for quote online at edmunds from several dealershipes, the sales reps will call you and email you quotes.. email them back telling them the best price you've got and force them to beat it.

+1 on the Edmunds.com quote request & also checkout Carsdirect.com....they contacted my local dealer & the dealer emailed me an offer for invoice, I then went in & worked him down.

Why are you looking at an 06 if you already have an 05?

My brother needs a car and wanted one also. So I'll probably sell it to him for a very good price and buy me a new one

Just tell him your going to another dealer, or ask to speak with his boss and go from there.

car salesmen are pawns and shouldn't even speak to you about price unless they can do the negotiating IMO.
