Exclamation It's coming down to the wire!

And I *still* can't make up my mind. I'm going in next week to place my order for a Performance model, and I've yet to decide on the friggin' color. I think I've changed my mind at least 20 times by now, and I'm still undecided. I thought I had my mind made up for sure, but a couple recent posts, and photos, have me second guessing again. It's down to Daytone Blue and Redline, that much I know for certain. So, let's hear what you all think?

The only thing that's stopping me from the DB is that I'm worried I'm going to get tired of the color. It's an absolutely gorgeous color, but I'm afraid it's almost too much and that I'm going to tire of it.

On the other hand, the only thing that's stopping me from the Redline, is the fact that my wife says that only midlife-crisis men, and girls, drive red sports cars.

HELP ME!

I can't see myself tiring of the Blue. For some reason, I don't really love the shade of red that is the Redline. It is nice, but nto exactly what I'd pick if I were chosing shades of bright red.

All personal taste, though. Are you leaning one way or the other at all?

What was your first instinct? That's probably what you'd be happy with over the long run. I picked the CS initially, then almost switched to SS when I saw all the super pics on this Forum. When I saw one in person, however, I just decided to stay with CS. (I would certainly be happy with either, though).

I've driven a DB and seen several Redlines. To me it seemed that the DB had just a very slight hint of purple in some lighting conditions. I thought it was a color I'd like to look at occasionally, but not own. The shade of red is, to me, exactly what a red sportscar should look like. But, I have owned several red cars and motorcycles in the past, so I decided to not get another red vehicle, even though I'd consider red my favorite color.

In picking the CS, I was also considering resale value. Not everyone will want a red, blue, or black car. I thought CS showed off the lines of the car in all lighting conditions and is generic enough that many people will always like it. That's probably why it is one of the top selling colors (CS and SS).

Go with your first impression!

what Wayne said! I initially ordered SS touring, changed it to Lemans touring, then changed it to lemans track. When it came time to get it, someone else had cancelled their SS Track, outfitted like the one I ordered, so I took it instead, figuring it was a sign. Don't regret it one bit. Initial choice is what you should go for.

If red is what you really want then thats what you should get.
Screw the middle age & girl thing. Your car, your money....your choice.

Personally, I love the blue Z. The only reason I did not get blue is we bought a dark blue Highlander last spring and wanted a little diversiy in color in the garage.

Just to add to your delimma, have you seen the Brickyard color up close & personal? Class, man, class. LOL.

Get what will "float your boat". You will be the one doing the rowing.

Leaning a little more toward the red at the moment.

Don't care for the Brick, whatsoever.....although, I can definitely see how some would like it. It's just not for me.

One more vote for the red one--it GLOWS with a lil' blackfire on it!! Nothing prettier than a red sports car with dark windows and nice wheels!! I can promise you one thing: when you're hugging curves and accelerating through 100 mph you won't be thinking about your color!!

between the db and redline, i'd get the db. there are way too many red cars out there on the road...your car won't stick out like the db will. the db is a bright blue that's different from anything else on the streets. i think i'd get sick of the red before the blue, just my own opinion.

Personally, if I were to choose between the Daytona Blue and Redline, I would definitely choose the Daytona Blue. When I first saw it at the dealership, the blue was absolutely striking! And in that certain lighting, it gave the blue a purplish tint to it and it was looking really good!

Red, IMO, is a bit too flashy for me. It looks nice but it's just not my style.

.......just a thought--ever notice the DB looks strikingly similar to Dodge Neon Blue????? Hmmmmmmmmm.......
Gotta admit though, when it came down to the wire, I was stuck between redline and db as well.

Actually, I've always liked the blue Dodge uses on a lot of its vehicles, including the Viper and the trucks.

I also think the blue is similar to the Corvette blue.

As for similarities the red is "similar" to a ton of other much lesser cars, too I wouldn't let that sway you.

Both are nice colors. I'd just not had a blue for awhile, and wanted that. I don't think you can go wrong.

My tastes in red run a bit more toward the fire engine color, though.

I do really like the blue, but like I said before, I'm concerned with if I'll like it as much as I do now, in two or three years. As far as the red goes......I'm not a fan of red cars in general, but there's just something about this shade of red, and the way it accents the body lines of the Z, that I find very appealing.

Now I'm more uncertain than ever! lol

On the other hand, the only thing that's stopping me from the Redline, is the fact that my wife says that only midlife-crisis men, and girls, drive red sports cars.
Haha, my wife says the same crap, except she says it about all the colors, she thinks the Z is a midlife crisis car, period. But im only 30? Oh well, for me the color is gonna be pikes peak white, it has a lot of class and is beautiful in the sun. The pearl is to die for!

Redline was my other chioce but when I started looking at older red cars on the road and how they look "pink" or orange" from fading in the hot sun down here I got turned off.

Good luck,

How about buying one of the cars for sale and skipping the ordering/waiting?

Did you considered the orange color, I think it would be cool certainly original and a eye catcher.

At least you get to see the colors, lots of us had to choose our color having only seen little swatches online. I have SS as I went w/ a safe choice due to the above situation, now having seen all the colors I wish I had blue.

Enjoy!

Have you had the opportunity to see both DB and Redline in person?

After looking at a bunch of pictures, I couldn't decide between Redline and Brickyard. After seeing them for real, the decision was easy. Check your area dealers' inventory and see if you can get a look at both colors before you decide.

Yes, I've seen all the colors in person, and on several different occasions. I like the LeMans in pictures, but it does nothing for me in person (especially with the over abundance of orange peel). The reason I'm ordering my car instread of taking from dealer inventory is because the wait over 2-3 extra months will give me a chance to save more for my down payment (shooting for 14k down), and it will also afford me the luxury of knowing that the car I'm getting was built specifically for me, and to my exact specifications.

DB or RL...which will it be?
