Default DEciding not to buy at the last second, pls read

I need an answer asap guys..
i am to settle the deal to buy my New Z from Nissan in a few hrs...its 6 am now, i gotta make the call at 9 am..
I just found out about the tyre feathering and the car drifting to the right side...

I had tried a second hand car a few days abck and heard a LOUD noise, i thought it was the Z..now i know its the cupping..or feathering...

So am wondering what other problems am i gonna face...
U guys think these are just problems we can deal with , do they outweigh the need to buy this car or what?...
cuz am not forking up 35 000 USD for this car..and its a 2004 model Track, they still have some from 2004 in stock..the 2005 is a bit more expensive...around 3K $ and its manual , they havent got auto anymore..waiting for 2006 to arrive in feb, and thats even another added 5 K $ more...

i was looking at a second hand BMW z3 COUPE M POWER 343 HP..good deal...

opinions pls...do any of you have regrets?

i wanted a 2 seater coupe..now its the M or the z4 3.0 L
ill go search for those when the dealers open....
The nissan sales exec is not gonna be happy....
do u think i should like tell them before hand about this and get some special gaurantee on changing tires and all?
or is it NOT WORTH IT AT ALL...

Thanks...

Well...before you but just have it checked out. I have a 2004 and have had ZERO problems to date. It's the old bad news travels faster than good news. Consumer Reports which is a 3rd party magazine here in the states gave the Z a good rating in terns of problem areas. Sure there have been a few with tranny problems and tire feathering. If you are worried have the local Nissan dealership just run the vin to see what all has been done to it.

Sure the Z3 M coupe is good but it is an outdated model. The 350Z is truly a fun car to drive.

After I replaced the tires and had it aligned, I have yet to have feathering anymore and I have an 03.

Netko 350..
the Z am getting , maybe , will NOT BE A Second hand ..it will be brand new....
thats my point here, the second hand i tried was just to see how the car is and get a pic if i like it or not...
Am getting it brand new, so with 3 yrs warranty or 60 ,000 Kilometeres

But I dunno if i bring up the issue of feathering right from the start to let them know that "I KNOW ABOUT IT AND I TOLD U WHEN I BOUGHT IT"

JVANQUISH..wats up with GET THE M...?

and to BLASIAN, nissan admits they have a problem with the 2003 model...even if urs isnt having any...its a whole manufacture alignment fault...
If i can get new wheels that would be the least of my problems...
but am reading enormous amounts of people having serious problems with their car...this is scaring me..

The Z3 is outdated yeah, but a 2001 or 2002 model with 40,000KM on it is a good car..and has virtually no problems....

am dying here!!!
Its 7 45 , got nearly an hr left...to be there at the dealer

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to say that I didn't have the problem with feathering. I actually did at first; I bought it used and the tires were already wore down...

I bought new tires (Nitto 555s) and haven't had a problem with feathering since.

Sorry if I sounded misleading. It was a pain at first with the things that were going wrong but once I got everything taken care of, I haven't really had much of a problem with my Z.

Oh, Ok...NP ...so as soon as they are worn, and i assume they will...ill just buy new tires..
do i need to get new rims or it wont make a diff?..am not a mechanic..and
does anyone know if the AUTO has any tranny probs...
i heard it was mostly with manual gearbox thats facing problems...

last question...how long do u think it will be a keeper before i get bored with it...
2 yrs 3 ..4?? average...??

z3 small and ugly, 04 Z's and up should have no major problems, Z is best bet and bmw cant screw you in the *** for parts, i just had an s2000 and the Z is a lot better and the S was a lot better then a z3. I was looking at evos and all other stuff out there and z is on the top.

Z3 is the older bmw the Z4 replaced it a while ago. also M power, wtf is that. the Z3/Z4 comes in a 2.5 or 3.0 with the 3.0 having 225 HP. yes the ///M coupe 2+2 seating has the high HP but not the Z.

also the seats on a Z4 are more for fatter people. they dont have tight seats like the nissan Z, corvette, M3, or most true sports cars. also if you get the Z4 with the 3.0 due to its light weight in a manual you can smoke the crap out of the tires. i would get a Z4 as a loaner when i have my bmw 330i zhp in for service. now i have a Z roadster so ill get the X5 as a loaner from now on. just for a change.

The 2006 doesnt come here till FEBRUARY..i posted january i think earlier..it needs4 more months..I cant wait that long , i have my personal reasons..( no its not cuz of a chick if thats what ur thinking )
actually kind of , it is..my mom is coming to visit , havent seen her in 2 yrs, shes living in italy..and i wanna make everything perfect for her...i got a new house, new job, new everything...am not driving her in a crappy 2005 civic 1.6 rent a damn car that huffs and puffs to reach 160 km/hr...
plus the2004 will cost me exactly 33,700 USD$ EXCLUDING INSURANCE AND LOAN INTEREST for 4 yrs...loan is 4.25% yearly, and insurance is 7 % yearly..
the 2005 , AUTO is for 38,500$ excluding the above...

THE 2006 is for 42,000$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! auto gear...
ALL are TRACK models, standard in middle east...

the z3 BONEYARD is actually a very pretty car..i love it, especially the Mpower 343 HP..its got amazing handling and its a ROCKET....

u guys think i should fork out another 5000$ for a 2005 AUTO?? cuz its not gauranteed to not have those feathering problems...nissan did not mention aything, and some members still have it on the 2005 model...
whats diff in the 2006? any new adjustments ,"patches" lol???

Has anyone here driven the S54 powered Z3 coupe? It is simply ferocious.

It is faster then the e39 M3 and can run high 12s stock in the hands of a good driver. Also the HP gap between the M coupe and the M3 can be bridged by intake and exhaust.

The Z3 M coupe is a 12 second car and can be made quite a bit faster N/A without doing too much.

It has a rather primitive suspension design, but that can be taken care of with aftermarket stuff, there is plenty of it.

I have driven the Z3 M coupe both the 240 and 315 hp models, and I currently own a Z. I bought a supra over the a Z3 M roadster in 99, I really love those M Z cars.

I think the M coupe has legendary classic styling, not everyone agrees. It has been rated one of the sexiest and ugliest cars of all time, it's a love it or hate it type thing.

Still the car is brilliant, and the engine is a gym.

I'd take the Z3 M coupe over a 350, if I didnt have to drive that much. The Z is great to put miles on, the M coupe is more of something you want to keep perfect. All of the first year M coupes with the S54 have an extended factory warranty on the engines to 100k, so that's a plus.

Drive a Z3 M coupe with the 315 hp engine and I think the choice will be very clear. Light weight, brilliant engine, sexy looks.

Also the 6 speed out of the E36 (I think) is an easy swap and a common mod on the M coupe.

Got 350z 2005 Touring Model but in Manual for 30,500. Went down from 35,000 sticker price. I'm pretty sure u can get a really good deal for this car. Don't let them trick u into thinking that is the bottom line. Make urself a good deal. I'm pretty sure they won't let u leave. And if it is 2004, they definitely wont let u leave. They wanna get rid of the car. It's been there too long. As far as the 2004 tire feathering problem, I really can't say anything from experience since I have an '05. Although I would try to get a deal on an '05 if ur worried about tire feathering. '05's shouldn't have this problem. Hope that helped somewhat.
