Default Got my 06 Z

Hey all, this is my first post but I've been reading the forum for about a month now. I picked up a Black 6-Speed on Saturday, and despite the frusration of break-in, I've been having a blast. I know some of you 03-05 owners may disagree with me, but I think the revisions Nissan made this year were all positive. The HIDs in front and LEDs in back make this car look incredible at night. My friends all think she's beautiful and were nutting themselves when they found out I got her. Just wanted to shoot a hello to all of you. Yes yes... TTIWWP, but it rained a bit on Saturday here and I don't want to take pics until I give her a nice wash during my lunch hour tomorrow.

btw, can anyone tell me what purpose the "window-seal" thingy has? I love the sound it makes when I close the door each time, but what's the functionality?

Congratulations!! I just got my brand new Z too, about two months ago. I'm still breaking her in too. And as for your question, I am not exactly sure as I'm new to the car as well...

it does that to keep from damaging the window when the door is shut as well as providing a tight seal.

A hearty CONGRATS. A very few minor changes and Nissan did a good job in polishing up the interior. That motor may be proving to have more mod potential as well. What trim level? I haven't heard the issue of clear bra installation so much on the newer Z's, but the 03's had very soft front ends. Something you might want to investigate (search) to keep it looking like a jewel. Enjoy.

Congrats on your new toy! I remember the days of "break-in" It was a painful month... but totally worth it afterwards.

The window thingy is called a hermatic seal. It creates a perfect seal each time the door is shut.

Congrats...welcome...nice car...love the color... We need pix! Plz get some night shots of the HID's beem patern!

Oh yeah, that feature on the window is there to do what others have said and also to make the motor fail prematurely. Can you imagine it doing that everyday for 365 days? To bypass that feature, I just roll up the window, then TAP on the button so the window would roll down lightly (aprox 5mm) then close the door and tada! Enjoy the new car
