Default Mods and GAS

I installed a JWT Popcharger over the weekend and it killed my gas mileage I usually get about 22 miles on the freeway and it sunk down to 18. Locally 17.5 was average and now 16.8. My driving habbit was the usual.

Have you guy notice changes after installing mods?

Keep tabs on it and give your ECU time to adjust. Typically, breathing mods will result in better gas milage. That said, I installed a popcharger and plenum a couple weeks ago and my milage was down a bit as well; I think it's starting to come back now, though. I don't drive my Z more than a few days a week, so it'll take me longer. My car is running richer, I can see that for sure; I get a bit of soot on my tailpipes now, where I had none before.

hmm. that's what I thought too. I'm getting my exhaust and plenum next.
I thought maybe the more air the engine gets, les fuel it needs (unless your stoming on the peddle).

Naw, the more air the engine gets the more fuel it needs to keep from running lean. However, the improved airflow increases efficiency.

I've seen a difference. City = 1-2mpg worse (stop and go causes more engine strain). Highway = WAY better. On the highway at a constant 60mph I'm hitting 40mpg now.

I dont keep track of per gallon, but I can tell you that I get about 220-230 on a full tank of gas running around on street and highways of sunny Los Angeles.

I have a popcharger and a UR pulley kit!

Dude, what kind of fantasy world are you living in that people drive Zs on the highway at 60MPH?! That said, WOW. I haven't driven mine on a consistant highway trip since I added my bolt-ons yet.

We have lots of curvy freeways near the city. The speed limit can go from 65mph down to 40mph for a sharp turn. It's ridiculous. You can still speed but you have to really pay attention to where.

I usually get anywhere from 28-32 mpg on the freeway without any mods. How are you getting so low? (22mpg)

I can get around 450 per tank on the freeway. There is a gear hiding where reverse usually is, its the 6'th gear!!

Believe it or not I do actually. I couldn't believe it so I snapped a quick pic with my phone. Sorry for the blur.

41.6 MPG
58 MPH

FWIW I believe this was a fluke. I haven't been on a long freeway trip since but I doubt very much I'm still this high.

Before I got my Borla I was getting around 33MPG highway (~60mph). I have no idea why it jumped to 40 after the install (and 200-300 mile break-in).

I think my ECU was still confused. I'll try to take a highway cruise soon to see what I can get. If it's still that high, I'll take more pics.

And I thought that my fuel mileage was good. You win.

I can get that by resetting the meter when I am on freeway running at 60~65mph.
And then, it will go down and down.
So, the question is when did you get the picture after you reset the meter?

I set my meter as I was waiting to get on the freeway. It stayed about there until I got off the freeway.

I drive mostly city so that average would be around 23MPG if I just let it equalize.
