How about parents start buying their kids 92 corolas and accord? why does it have to be a brand spankin new 3 series, 350Z, IS300, Mustang... list goes on.

I see it all the time and you read about it all the time (after they crash)

I cant think of ONE teenager that bought their own car and fixed up their own car with their own money that has done really stipid things with it.

They know if they screw it up they will have to pay for it. yet when little daddys boy over here gets a free 350Z he *****es becuase he can't F it up.

It has nothing to do with age. I had 5 different cars from 16-20 each one bought and sold. My kids are going to work for their car if they don't want to work for it that's fine I will buy them a cheap POS beater that runs good but is slower then a 6cly camaro.

If you hand a 16 year old a gun and say have fun what do you think is going to happen? It's no different then a car. both can easily kill the kid and others.

This age BS crap bugs me almost as bad as the stupid parents that buy N rated video games to baby sit their kids then ***** about their 12 year old hurting someone. (its the video games falut not mine!!!!!)

calm the **** down u need to chill. the world aint fair buddy. have u seen that tv show sweet 16 on mtv? all these millionaire kids with their parents dropping $200,000+ on their birthday parties, and going to dealerships and getting their kids brand new cars, and the kids are still pissed off because they cant find the right dress, and all this ****, and u are pissed off because some kid has a Z. i am tired of u posing this **** whenever i post something. i am so thankful for my car, and i appreciate it so much, and the only reason i have this car is because my dad had a dealers license and could buy the car for cheap, so stop being pissed at me for having a Z.

i am sure if u were my age and ur dad offered u a nice car, u wouldnt be like "i'd rather work my *** off and buy a 10 year old civic"

actually some people take pride in earning things on their own instead of getting a free ride.

I bought my 350Z when I was 20 with my own money. I bought my first car a 280ZXT with a loan from my dad that I PAID back. I also bought everything else in my life with my own money. If my parents offered me a brand new car for free I wouldnt take it. I couldnt.

I even had to buy my dads old civic from him for a daily driver I spent 2K on it and within 1 week had to put 4 new tires on it, timing belt, water pump, some body work and other tune up stuff... not even with an old beat up car would I take it as a "gift" I've never wanted free stuff from anyone.

And are you pissed because kids on TV from LA get free high dollar cars?
WAH F-In WAH grow up dude. I'm shamed to be a fellow Z owner.

P.S the admin said it best with the two links to your other post. You've done stupid stuff in the past and are getting upset that your dad doesnt trust your good judgement on the steets. Sounds like a smart man to me.

I'm getting into a negative territory on this one. It does suck that many of us have not been as fortunate as others in this world, however is it the kid's fault that he has a dad that can do nice things for him. No. I'm no parent, but if I was and could afford to give my kids nice things, I would in a heart beat. I pray that when I do have children that I can provide for them better than my dad ever did for me. On the other hand, I hope that some of these kids actually respect the fact that they have it good. In this case, I hope that Forbidden Donut respects the car's potential and doesn't bring harm to himself or anyone else.

I see your guys' point, but how can you generalize like that and say "all teenagers are bad"? That's almost as bad as racism. Granted, while many teenagers(most nowadays) are knuckleheaded drivers, I know of many teenaged drivers who are much more responsible than many supposedly mature adults. Look at professional race car drivers, they're in race cars as teenagers and I don't see anyone bashing them. Anyways, just my .02 cents. My first car was an AMC Pacer way back when

Nobody is really pissed at you because you drive a nice car that was handed to you. They're pissed because you come off as a whiney brat simply because your old man doesn't trust you to drive like a responsible person. You're the only one who gave your dad reason to limit your speed. Think about it while you do some growing up.

I worked my *** off and bought a at the time 6 year old civic that had ZERO options. that same car now makes 570WHP on race gas.

Once again if my dad handed me a free car I wouldnt take it.

I guess that's the differance between us. I'm not willing to take hand outs. you take what you can get then ***** about it even if its in the form of a $30K car.

I'm sorry your daddy wont let you BREAK the LAW. There's two highways with speedlimits of 65mph and that's only in small areas of the highway the rest of the speedlimits are 55 and under.

My dad put one of these in my car too. The good thing is, he set it for higher than 65mph.

For some reason, he set it at 88mph. The weird part is, if I go faster than that, I get transported back in time to 1955! Believe me... being stuck in 1955 is crappy enough punishment.

This is what mine looks like. Its mounted right behind the passenger seat:

Absolutly true,

I still dont understand why your father would have gotten you a Z unless he thaught you were a responsible young adult.....
Seriously if my folks got me a Z (I've never had them buy me a car except for an 89' Cavalier when I was 17) and limited its speed to 65MPH I would not be mad/sad/insulted.... Take no offence, but if your parents saw some of your Posts on this site, they would be assured that placing a limitor on your speed is indeed a GREAT IDEA.....
Now dont go kill yourself or someone else at under 65MPH !!!

Probably more dangerous if your cruisin down the highway at 90mph on 19"/255/75...hahahah..

It would be helpful to have a device that shuts the car off whenever you pick up the cell phone to make an outgoing call. Incoming calls can last 1 minute before the car shuts off. I'd require this for adults with big SUVs and vans.

Too many adults have one hand on the cell phone and the other hand on a cup of coffee while driving on the bumper of my Z.

This makes me think... if tv's come with V-chips to limit what violence and sex our kids see on tv, why not put chips in cars (all cars) to limit what speed they drive??? Hmmm...

As far as this thread goes, just remember the "golden" rule: The man with the gold makes the rules!
