Default Oh no...

Several days ago, i posted about hearing a loud beep, followed by my transmission light going off. Well, i was too busy to go to the dealer that day (and admittedly didn't care much because i've got manuf warranty), so i continued driving. Now today, as i was cruising through a parking lot, i turned on the AC and smelled.... not even sure what. It smelled a little toxic and a little like smoke and i went "oh ****!" and started driving towards the dealership. Then, all of a sudden, the transmission light finally turns off and the smell goes away. I figured that there must have been some sort of a minor glitch that somehow took care of itself. So i turned around again and went about my day. Later tonight, i parked the car, got out... and realized that the entire goddamn front end smells that way now! If you place your head anywhere NEAR the front tires, it REEEKS! Dammit. What the hell could this have been? Transmission fluid spill? Not a clue. Definitely going to the dealer now. *smacks himself on the back of the head*

I'd guess something dripped onto your headers. And the stink is burning off.

I didn't know the 6spd manual had a transmission light.

Sounds like you need to go to the dealership and let them check it out instead of all guessing whats wrong. I don't know, maybe that's crazy talk.

It could be just about anything dripping onto the exhaust manifold, cats or exhaust. The only way to figure it out is to get under the car and look.

i would have taken it to the dealer the 1st time you had a problem, even is the ligh goes off and the smell is gone you could still have a problem. the dealer can check the code for the light and see if everything is ok...

hope everything works out.

maybe you ran something over?? I hit a small animal once, and it left a nasty smell on my tire for a week or so.

Just to clarify my actions...The only thing I edited of the OP's post was the title because "****" doesn't need to be in the "General --> 350Z" thread list even though it gets past the word filters. I edited no content in the OP's post, the OP used the actual word in his post and the filters caught it.
