i just bought my 05 Z about a week about and i can't for the life of me shift smoothly between 1st and 2nd gear...all the others are fine its just those 2 gears. Does everyone else have this problem too or do i just suck horribly at driving?

You're a new member, and I would ask that you use search. You're get much more information than starting a new thread. That said..
Yes. My first to second gear shift is “notchy.” There is no secret fix, but when you shift, make sure you are not pulling the lever towards you.

I had the same problem for the first few weeks. It was just a different ride from my last car, I got used to it after a couple weeks. I doubt that anything is wrong with your Z.

Pretty much... sorry to sound like a dick.
Try this. When you let the clutch in, the revs drop, obviously. Let them drop to the point where you're roughly rev-matched with 2nd gear.
There's a rhythm to it. You'll get the hang of it.

Some people have had success in lifting off the accelerator before pulling out of 1st gear. Others have had success revving the engine very slightly before pushing into 2nd gear. You could always try resetting the ecu and letting the adaptive shift computer adapt to your driving style from scratch.

yea but theres no point in giving more throttle when upshifting like that, he just needs to learn how to drive his car.

does the enthusiast model have VDC or TCS on it? thats what the dealer told me i was getting although i'm like 90% sure that i got sold a base model. It wasnt on the lot so i couldnt see it before i bought it. Anything over the base model would have a button to turn the TCS off right?

Good way to tell if you got an 05 base model is the homelink rear mirror, if it has buttons, you at least have the Enthusiast model.
You have to get used to driving stick and should learn to play with your clutch when you are in 1st gear. Thats where most of the jerkiness comes from.
