might get 350z
well im a rx-7 guy and got my car running then blew my engine
. for now im fed up with rotary engines and im tired of rebuilding them. so i want to get a new car. i was crusing down the ave looking for cars for sale. then i noticed this dealership with a Z so i said what the hell. went in talked to a very nice guy and he let me take her out for a spin. i got to admit it wasnt have bad. ive beaten a 350z in my old rx-7 and lost respect for them. but sense today i got it back, its a very nice car with a good amount of torque. well the guy wanted 23k with 7k miles i think. it has navigation, bose and all that fun stuff. but by the time im ready to buy i dont think hes gonna have that anymore so im just gonna have to find a new one. so my question is, are they easy to make faster, i mean does headers, exhaust and stuff like that make a big dif, and i also noticed that trac control really slowed me down. i didnt notice a button to turn it off. is there one at all? but all in all im totally in love with the Z now... who would have thought. i was looking into a supra but why the **** would i pay 25g's for a car thats old when i can get a almost new Z. so what do you guys think, ditch rotary and go the piston side again?. i was also looking into the stillin super charger but when i saw the video it was on back order for a while. anyone have any web sites or does anyone on here the kit to compare the numbers to stock?, and what about the alighment issue with the front tires getting jacked. i work at firestone so alighnments arent a issue for me to get done or tires but they got a fix for it right?
- z is a good choice. they've already milked a lot of HP out of the vq engine, so the boltons do very little, unfortunately. But a few bolton and FI goes very well together. with the right tuning, you'll be at 400ish rwhp which is good enough for me.
- there is a traction control button that you can turn off.
- supra is for the hardcore performance fanatics. You can eaily get 700 whp with a few mods

yeah, i like knowing i have power. i was really concidering a 95 rx-7 too but i think insurence would be to high on one. anyone have any sites for the stillin SC kit? what is available for the Z as far as ECU and stuff like that. i'll probley get black so dont get mad.... yet
The 3rd gen RX-7's are really REALLY nice cars. They are very beautiful and I love the lines on them. Mazda really screwed up with the RX-8. But yeah get the Z and you will be happy with it. You won't have to worry about blowing your engine up or overheating and bolt-ons do add power but they don't add up linearly. If you do decide to go FI... make sure you beef up your bottom end. The insurance for the Z is only slightly higher than a "normal" car. For ECU wise they have the Technosquare reflash. But you only wanna do that after you have enough bolt-ons or have gone FI to really take full advantage of it. Black is a good choice.

Ditch the wack azz rotary engine ..I had an RX-7, it was just OK....The rotary didn't excite me too much, the car doesn't even feel like it had 160 HP IMO...This is the type of car that needs turbos to make it have any cahones whatsoever...
Get the Z....send the RX-7 to scrap yard heaven.
Don't get the damn '95 RX-7 TT....They were REALLY unreliable....That's WHY they're dirt cheap as used cars!

Go with the Z. My bro has a supra with a few boltons puttin out about 420hp to the wheels. Ive driven his car and I know its a hell of alot faster than my car. I must add that it is a great car, not only for modding but overall its a very well put together car. Belive it or not it was easier to drive than the Z when casually driving. IF u want to find a good mint supra you wont be spending 25 grand ull be spending about 40 plus grand on the ones that are in good condition. Even with alot of miles i see them selling for 40 grand. My bro bought his for 30 from my step brother with 10,000 miles on it about 2 years ago. If ur into modding cars with out spending alot of money and not worrying about reliablility go with the supra if you have the money. I love my Z but the supra has always been my dream car. OH and if are able to find a supa for some odd reason with 40 thousand miles or so then if i were u id buy it anytime over the Z. THe car has never had any problems recorded. Possiblly the best motor when it comes to modding. Has the ability to handle 1000 hp on the stock botom end. THe Z is known to have little defects such as tire feathering, tranny probs. THe supra has one of the best transmissions ever built. THe record of the fastest 6spd supra is held my ryan woon who is making well over 1000 hp on the stock tranny. I my self havent come across this problem. Im a supra freak thanks to my bro and no just about as much about that as my Z. Either way ur gettin a great car. Supra-power,attention,virutally invincible. Z-attention,girls,great lookin car.

I used to have a 3rd gen, Loved the car hated the little probelms. Its much easier to make a stock RX-7 faster then the 350z since FI is stock on the RX-7. However the RX-7 did get more looks then my SS Track 350z maybe cause I had a lot done to the RX-7 like rims and it was black with a lot of Zaino all the time
But its such a relief to not have to baby a car and have the thought of a blown engine in the back of your head, or having to always use the fan mod in stock and go traffic or having to pop my hood after hard driving so the engine wouldn't overheat while the turbo timer ran. BTW my RX-7 was a 93 Touring with 58K total miles on the orginal engine when I sold it in 2003.

The RX-8 needs to be re-designed....Forget that little rear door BS and the way the front wheel wells bulge is really ugly...yeesh.
At least the RX-7 had smooth body lines and was a true 2-seater, not some horrible hybrid.
