okay well as far as i know the clicking noise is standard on a lot of the Z's ive heard.

From personal experience it is valve noise, not so much injectors.

as for the clutch chatter, use the search function. that is totally normal, and becomes even more pronounced with lightweight flywheel.

yeah thats what i was saying. .hydrolic lifters aren't filling up fast enough and make the valve clicking noise. .

I didn't read everyone's reply, so forgive me if it has been stated already. Someone said the throwout bearing from the clutch, but that is a faint clicking and wouldn't be so prominent in the engine bay. My guess, b/c I had the exact same clicking and it was due to a slight overfill in oil which was causing the cam shafts to click which as you know would increase in tone and frequency when rev'd.

change your oil and check the levels first before taking it to the stealership.

might be lifter tick, you could try a little heavier weight in oil. That fixed the problem in my DSM, although my Z has never had this problem so I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure if it works or not.

Mine made a loud ticking noise that turned out to be the fan hitting the upper passenger side of the fan shroud , did it right after we brought the car home from the dealer ! The tab on the shroud was probably bent a small amount when installed at the factory , I bent the small tab back a small amount , and it's never done it again !
